Title: online source for #4 SS washers
Post by: Chris2P on May 04, 2006, 06:58:02 PM
I've bought a lot of boating supplies from them in the past and they have very good service.  You need to buy a box of washers but a box only costs 3 bucks.

I just placed my order after driviing to the "big 3 - Home Depot, Lowes, Sears" and striking out.

Hope this helps

Chris

These places usually don't have a very good hardware selection.  Your local hardware store (Ace, true value,...) is your best bet for little stuff like this

McMaster-Carr is the best source for screws and washers that I have found.  Everything from brass to stainless to copper to steel.  And very reasonably priced.  Grade 8 metric and standard allen head screws, you have to buy a box of 25 or 50 or 100, but it is usually less than 10 bucks, you can change all your case screws at once.   When you buy them from Orchard Supply you pay around $1 for 2, that is an outrageous markup, when a box of 100 is $10.
