What I really should do is get new front springs and readjust my rear shock to see if I can get it right... Right now it's setup all wrong... Really REALLY loose in front and as tight as possible in the back. :?
You don't need the remote chamber.
What he's saying is that all the adjustments on the Kat shock (unlike more expensive ones) are on the shock itself.
this makes them hard to get at but is not a real problem.
This Kat shock will raise the rear end of your bike slightly and the chain rubs slightly when there is no weight on the bike.
The chain seems to be fine once you sat on the bike however.

I found a 750 shock on eBay... would it be too stiff, or maybe too tall for our GS... or will it fit at all?

I have seen post that the SV shock gives the most lift? I am looking to do the same soon.. anyone got any spare shocks arround that will give like 2" lift? O0

1'st: I don't own a GS, yet. I had two SVS's, a '99 and an '02 (wifeys).
When I had my SV, I swapped my shock out for a '99 GSXR shock. It was a softer spring, but taller overall. It raised the rear of the bike 26mm at the tail light. It sat about 10mm higher with my 180lbs on it vs. the stock SV shock.
Assuming the GS shock is interchangable, I'd go straight to the GSXR shock. '96-99 600, and '99-00 750 shocks are listed to fit the SV. You can expect about a 20-25mm raise in the tail, but will sit almost the same with weight on it. I did NOT get into adjusting the unit, but the provisions were there. I got mine online for $25, but they usually go for ~$100 as an upgrade to SV racers.
