Title: gs running trouble
Post by: JoChan23 on May 09, 2006, 07:56:23 AM
I can start it up with full choke.  It will fire right up, but wont idle as high as it used too, even with full choke.  If i take the choke off it will idle for a little but then usually shuts off, due to a low idle.  Here is the part that troubles me.  As soon as i touch the throttle, choke on, or off, it dies - instantly.  Anyone have any input that may help me out?

I had a similar problem.  Could only start it up in full choke and died if I decrease amount of choke or would bog down and stall if I gave it gas.  I cleaned out the carb and it solved the problem.

Sounds like clogged pilot jets.

so how do you clean out the pilot jets.. take them out and use compressed air or something.. is it that simple?

Take the jets out and spray through them with carb cleaner. Or take the carbs apart, remove all the rubber and plastic and then let them soak in carb cleaner for a while.
