Title: why am I always stuck dealing with...
Post by: makenzie71 on May 09, 2006, 04:23:32 PM
...assholes?  They're EVERYWHERE anymore!  I can't get away with not dealing with them!  Through ebay and my various forums I complete about 20 transactions per week.  Most of them are ice pleasant ones with both of us nicely satisfied...but there's at least one or two pricks a week...

Right now I'm dealing with some guy over on rx7club.com who bought a fender from me.  One thing I'll admit that I have a problem with is getting things shipping out in a timely manner.  Some things I get our right away, some things I get out within 2 weeks...usually no longer than that unless it's a custom part or something that I have to find time to make.  Anyway, this guy paid me while I was on a weekend and wouldn't be back for another 2 or 3 days.  After I got back I had last weeks prioraties to deal with first...but he said he needed the fender ASAP!  So I push a couple other things off, grab the fender off the top of my pile, wrap it and make a mad dash to catch the UPS ground driver before he left town and I got it to him in just a couple days.

Some of this is my fault.  I was in a rush so I didn't propperly inspect the fender nor did I box it propperly.  Because of this I missed a slight "bow" in the fender likely from som manhandling on the part of UPS and some pin-holes (which I'm still not sure where they'd have come from).

Quote from: elnotsI just got the fender today. I applaud you on you extremly fast shipping! I can honestly say that from the time I asked for shipping to recieving my items, your time was the fastest! Thank you.

However, we have a problem. The fender I recieved from you is not as described. It is dented and flattened in many areas and is missing a piece of the moulding, which I need and assumed came with the fender. I don't know if most of the damage I'm seeing was caused by poor packaging, poor handling, or previously unmentioned damage.

The missing trim is an upset, but the dents are what upset me most.

I'll take pics as soon as I can get my friends digital camera tonight. I hope we can figure something out because you seem like a very helpful and punctual  person. Thank you.

-Landon

To which I replied:

Quote from: Makenzie71Yes we'll get something worked out.  Any damage is likely a result of the packaging...I was in rather a rush to catch the UPS guy that afternoon so bound her up simply and quickly as I could.  I did insure it, however, so if the piece is beyond reconciliation, something can be arranged.

As far as the moulding, I was unaware that you needed it.  Had I more time I would have pulled the front moulding, actually.  I'll dig through the parts bins and see if I can find a rear piece for you.

If you can get me some pictures we'll figure out this evening whether an attempt at repair could be made or if I need to scavenge another fender.  You can email the pics to makenzie71@gmail.com

Thanks Landon!

Today I get this:

Quote from: elnotsI ended up running out of time to take pictures of it so I brought the fender with me to maaco, they said they could work with it and only charge me 40 additional bucks to get it to work with my car.

But there where four small holes on it under the moulding like it had a body kit on it, dents on the wheel well, and the back part was missing a moulding and flattened out while the front part of the fender was slightly bowed out and didn't match up with the back side.

All in all with the holes an missing moulding which were obviously previously existent before  you shipped it, I think I did not get what I paid for.

I wish I had time to point this out to you but I don't have anything other than posting negative feedback for you in the good/bad guy section.

If you'll refund at least part of the price then I'll just drop it but dents aside, you should have told me about the moulding and holes in the fender.

-Landon

I assured him that we'll even it out and he resorts to threats?  WTF?  Even has the nerve to complain about parts he didn't recieve, after I told him I'd hook him up DESPITE the fact he did not pay for them...

My last reply to him was that I'd forget ever having recieved that message and let him come back with an appropriate attitude.  Pisses me off because the duck head was going to get a clean fender one way or another OR he was going to get a full refund and he had the guall to Buddha Loves You...

You're all a bunch of assholes, too...assholes...

....keep firing, assholes!

I feel better now.

First off, Im not trying to be hostile, So dont treat me like I am....

I could careless about the money, I will happily ship that thing back to you for free if you want.

I dont need all of you chastizing me, Im just saying its not very cool to slander someone when they arent here to defend themselves, even if it was four months ago.

He doesnt even know this is here, Im not even sure I want to tell him about this.

Instead of treating this like a kid, Try looking at it like an adult. Maybe something can be worked out? At the least, I can give you your fender back because all its doing is taking up space where it is now.

Im sorry you thought Landon was an @$$hole, I really am. If it was me, I would have handled it differently, but I dont think Landon was that rude.

<-----elnots

hey I can tell this is a dead topic, and its a dead matter with me, but just because my avatar's name was mentioned I wanted to set this straight.

Very simply, at the time, I was constantly busy with work and trying to get maaco to stop f%$king around with me( which I mentioned in one of my messages as being the source of my frustration) that the fender sending back was on a back burner. I decided to just say f%$k it and toss it into a pile of parts in my garage and forget about it to save you and I both the added hassle.

Who enjoys having to go get insurance pay out for a 60$ item which you then have to turn around and send back to the person who bought it to begin with?

You were very generous with that offer and at the time I needed money so I was like, damn skippy I'm getting money! But things always work out and I got my car and job and everything else taken care of and moved on.

I hope you are doing well and not having any problems. Take care

Heh...  Ed-Zakly!

They're both A-Holes...  Bitchy A-Holes...

Now...  Where'd I put my hot pocket?

Mmmm...  Hot Pocket...  Perfect "I'm too lazy to cook" snack.  If you eat four or five of 'em, it's like a meal...

And the Lean Pockets are pretty good too...

You ever think it's gonna rain and then decide that it's not gonna rain only to find out you were wrong, but one day off?  I hate that, don't you?

Sometimes it's better to just pretend like you're sorry and just say it...

And sometimes it's better to stop calling.

If your job is to find problems that no one will fix, couldn't they just pay you to do nothing?

I'm gonna have to do something about that.

Personally I'll give them a gold star for their detective work, I don't think even sherlock holmes would have trawlled the internet for 4 months just to find a dead horse to flog.

Now I wonder if they'd be interested in spending the same amount of time & enrgy in looking for Jimmy Hoffa & solving a great mystery  :dunno_white:

The grout on part of my tub is coming out...  I think I'm gonna caulk it, since it's in the corner...  I've heard that it's better to caulk the corners than it is to grout...  'cause the grout can crack when the wall flexes...  Which is pretty much what it looks like now.

Such fun...  Looks like I'm gonna be taking a sink shower in the morning. :icon_confused:

Filthy redneck!

How about chiseling out the grout, then caulking the hole and laying a thin layer of grout on top to keep the whole thing even?

Well...  If I just caulk over the cracked grout, it'll keep the water outta there...  Which, it totally fine with me...

I think the "Almond" Silicone II will match the grout pretty well....  Well, I hope it will anyway.

This is all assuming the grout is even dry yet...  Some water got into the crack and it was pretty wet this morning...  :icon_confused:

Then I have to run to practice with a band that I quit...  Yeah, I don't really know how that works either.  :dunno_white:

Well, what about matching textures as well? Caulk is smooth and plastic-y. Grout is rougher. The color may match, but the texture and visuals won't match at all. Then again, who are you to care about matching?

He was and, simply put, that's the point of the story.  he came to me with threats and I treated the situation justly.  When he came back with a mature attitude I told him how to settle.  That's the end of the story.

I could really care less about your opinion of me having posted my experience here.  this is a community of friends and this is a variety of discussion amongst friends.  You taking offense to this having happened leads me to believe that you are either being blatently hypocritical or that you do not currently, nor have you ever, had friends.

yeah...  I dunno....  Texture vs Leaky, cracked grout causing the tile and wall to rot and fall off...  Hmm...

Yeah, I think I'll go with a mis-matched texture...  Although, I hear the make caulk that looks more like grout...  I'll have to look into that.

I found a solution!!!!!

SANDED BONE CAULK!!!

Say it loud!

SANDED!!!

BONE!!!

CAULK!!!

I'll let you know how it goes...  I have to grind out some grout and get the slit big enough to get the sanded bone caulk in there.  Hopefully it won't come out and make a mess everywhere.  I'd hate to clean sanded bone caulk off of everything.
