Title: race tech fork spring rate?
Post by: l3uddha on May 09, 2006, 06:39:06 PM
I'm looking into some race tech flat rate springs to swap into my forks along with the Kat shock, but I'm not sure of what rate to purchase. I've been doing a search all night & the only "calculating" links are dead or no longer on the race tech site.

here's some info about me:
I weigh about 155 lbs.
I'm into some pretty aggressive twisties riding, and I will be taking my bike to the track this summer; thus the suspension work.
For now I'm swapping in a 93 Kat shock, but I'm hoping for a spring rate that will compliment a later swap for a gsxr 750 shock.
I'm not really sure what else is necessary... I've got a 2004 F.

any suggestions?

The RaceTech website has a spring calulator
http://www.racetech.com/evalving/SpringRateCalculation/dirtspring.asp?brand=Suzuki&yr=01-03&ml=GS500&formuse=form1&SpringType=Fork

RaceTech suggests a .76 rate spring, so get the .80 springs, as they are the closest.
