Title: Bike would not start when using fatter vaccuum o-rings
Post by: KeLL on May 11, 2006, 09:12:49 PM
For the record I just wanted to let you know my findings after I tried out some slightly fatter o-rings in the vaccuum cap area and my bike would not start (even on PRI). I checked the level of fuel in my floats and they were half as much as they should have been. I replaced the o-rings with my old ones and the bike started.

Duhhhh
I am a bit dumb here but why would the "O" rings in the vacume area of the carb tops effect the float chambers...??

Haven't seen KeLL around for a while. That is why I try to change/fix/modify one thing at a time. But then if she was totally inoperative...carbs are one of those places when a rebuild happens, you usually have to be totally invasive and touch everything.

Usually a problem is where the wrencher was last poking around. The fat o-rings may have been keeping the top from sealing. They most likely had nothing to do with the float level.

Who knows at this point?  :dunno_white:
