I was wondering why do most people upgrade their motorcycles, i heard from some people that its because of a lack of power. anyone here have any experince on this subject?
Some people want more power and some people just want a different "type" of bike. It is really an individual question. Some people keep buying GS's and some people buy new bikes and keep their old GS's. Everyone will probably have a different answer.
I want a different type... AND a GS. :thumb:
I plan on keeping my GS once I get an SV. 2 bikes are always better than 1.

Your soooo old!!!!
More power; more style; more thrills; better brakes & suspension; better handling; wider tires; cooler frame; fuel injection; snob appeal. You spend more and you can get more. :icon_rolleyes:

Well as long as you sometimes still ride like an ass!!!
i just want a 200 for the bike tire.
I just want a bike that looks and feels bigger. The GS500 is a bike that can be ridden and enjoyed by any experience level but it does feel awful small to me. The Yamaha XT350 I had years ago felt like a giant compared to the GS500. Of course it was a dualsport so it was a lot taller.
The gs500 was my first big bike. I got it after my test because it was cheap to buy and made a decent amount of power and was easy to ride. I now have a 1993 cbr600 because it handles better and the extra power is great for overtaking and I like the look of it.

I scraped parts riding 2up today... Does that count? :icon_twisted:
lol yup!!!
some people upgrade because that was always their plan. I bought my gs to learn on. I always intended to sell it and replace it with a sportbike. So after 16 months of riding the gs I sold it and bought a cbr600rr.

All this talk about upgrading and riding 2up makes me want to buy my old-man cruiser all the more... :icon_mrgreen:
I was on the back of an '85 Honda Shadow when we scraped pegs now that was interesting....
