Hi All,
I have searched the forum and I have read lots of different information about different batteries. I would like to just go down to my local Shucks Auto Supply or Pep Boys and buy a replacement battery for my GS. I don't want to do anything fancy, like Srinaths Wal mart Battery... Do you guys have any suggestions for what battery to buy and could you include the battery number.
Thanks!
What is wrong with "srinath's walmart battery"? It will work, I am sure. What about the 10L-A2 NAPA battery? :thumb:
Anything with 12v and 11 amp/hr. will work, as long as it will fit into the battery box. It's convenient if you can find one with the vent hose on the right side, usually indicated by a "b" designation in the model#. I'm running an ES10L-A2, $30 at Wal-Mart.

I just walked into Pepboys and grabbed a battery. Stock, just bring in the old and make the exchange. Too bad the breather line is on the other side. No biggy.. the hose is plenty long.
Pep Boys parts guys can look up the correct battery. A lot of them are lazy and don't want to be bothered with going to the actual book. :icon_rolleyes: They believe that if its not in the computer it doesn't exist :cookoo: The older guys, or the people that care will go to the book right away.
Ask them to look in the actual paper book, it should be in there
....how do I know? I work at PB when I am not at school. :icon_razz:
I went to Walmart and bought a battery but I picked up the wrong one. when I got home I took it out of the box, and when I realized that it wasn't the right one, I went straight back and they wouldn't take it back!!!!
The guy said that they don't take batteries back once they left the store.
I was pretty pissed! like what the hell? It's not like I dropped the electrolyte into the battery! I could put a peice of scotch tape on the box and you couldn't even know that it was ever off of the shelf! I argued with the manager for a while and he basically didn't want to hear any of it.
:bs:
I got the WalMart ES12BS and it was too big for the battery box. So what does a person who refuses to return things EVER? (I leave those things to my Wife, who makes fun of my ill fitting pants and pre-stained tees, but poor clothing choices don't make me want to go postal like the returns desk people do)
I removed the battery box and re-routed every wire under the seat. I also found new homes for everything that was attached to the box. I zip tied it to the cross member under the box and it works like a charm.
Or you could just take a grinder to the box to accomadate the battery.

yea, but in my case, the battery won't fit width wise in the frame, so it has to be mounted longitudianly with the frame... and then the airbox is in the way.
Thankfully I got my K&N lunchbox in the mail yesterday... so BUH-BYE air box!! :flipoff:
for the walmart battery? Its been so long since I ve had one, but since its a sealed battery you could mount it anyway that you want.

Mine isn't a sealed one. The one I got is the same dimensions as the sealed one, but just not a sealed battery.
WalMart. All my bikes end up with one in it.
Walmart is the devil!!!!
