Title: 06 GS500F!!
Post by: FearedGS500 on May 17, 2006, 08:31:57 PM
welll . if any of you have a idle problem with an 06 gs i.e. after its warmed up and you go to adjust it because it keeps droping below 1200 rmp's  even when you kick it up at 1500 just to see if it will idle and it falls back down like it wants to die.. take it to the stealer ship and have them check it out . my cusins bike was doing this when he took it in for his first check up (600 mile check up , valves, oil bla bla bla )  they noticed it and said it had a defective rod.  not sure what all that means .. dont run up there and be like bla bla bla i heard this and that . just if your having this issue and you have tryed to fix it with the idle screw AFTER its WARMED UP!!  then you might want to take it in and talk to them about it . just thought i'd put a comment out about it

I wonder what kind of "rod" we are talking about here.  The GS500 engine proper hasn't changed since 1989 IIRC, so I'm sure it was an isolated problem.

Hope everything got fixed!  No matter the make, model or type of vehicle, mistakes happen.
