Hey Im looking at a 2001 YZF-R6 S Champion Limited Edtion (holy crap thats alot to type) just wondering if any of yall know anything about them? Limited ed. aside or whatever. The guy thats selling it says it weighs 325 lbs but I havent been able to find that anywhere other than him but, it does feel really light. And he also said itll keep up with 750's not so sure about that. Either way R6 a pretty good bike cause Im like moving into the middle of no where and will have a 30-40 min. drive/ride to school and work everyday and I want something with more power than the GS and a windscreen for the highway everyday. Yeah I know why the R6 buy an SV650 but I want a kill my back/wrists type o sport bike. Its really pretty too :D.

I rode a similar vintage and found it a lot different from the zx6r or gsxr600. More peaky, but hit hard when it got into the power band. Very short reach to the bars -I felt more on the bike than in the bike. If you're small it will probably be a great fit, if you're over 5-10 you might find it really cramped. Yami quality and reliability are a +. I still like in order:
gsxr600 -smoth and handles
zx6r - comfy and power
R6 - super sporty and sexy
cbr600 - most uncomfortable piece of shaZam! ever made.

haha in a nutshell
The r6 will definitely hang with any gxsr600 or 750 they r extremely light and very powerful.

Yes, I should have said this. All of the 600s, including the CBR will hang with each other. It is hard to believe a 600 could be so damn fast and powerful... and handle like a dream... but they are and they do :thumb:
I still say the 600 is the perfect balance between power and handling for the street. Seriously, the power of a 1000 is wasted.
In the real world the 1000cc bikes are no faster than the 600cc bikes. It's just with the 1000cc bikes you don't have to rev them so much to get the power.
