Didnt know where to post this so i'll post it here. :icon_mrgreen:
ALright, here's the full story.
2 weeks ago, i left the parking lights on the bike on and it wouldnt start. I managed to pop start it with help from a friend, and since then i needed to pop start every morning, but when it got hotter, it had no problem starting.
1 week later, i should've gotten gas 10 miles ago but decided not to, to see how many miles i can run before a refill (apparently 127). Bike died and it felt like the "i'm out of gas sputtering then die". I switched it to reserve but it wouldnt turn over at this point so I took the battery home to charge. After a few hours of charge, i bring it back to the bike, and the bike started right up. Problem was...i lost one of the f%$king battery screws so i had use electrical tape on the other side. Bad idea...put it in first gear and the jerk moved the electrical tape.
At this point, i believe i must've blew a fuse cuz the headlight and taillight won't work but the turn signals still does. (neutral light doesnt work but the oil light still does) So i pushed the bike back to the gf's house (which is about half a mile away) and it's been sitting there. I tried to open the fuse box but damn old bike got rust all over the screw. Guess i need help on that too...would WD40 work?
Today, i charged the batter again and it's fully charged but it still wont start. Im wondering do i need a push start (i didnt do it cuz it was blocked off by gf's mom's car) or is there something else wrong with it?
any help appreciated.
If the lights work then the fuse is okay (but it woldn't hurt to hit that screw with some WD40, or Liquid Wrench). Turn the petcock to Prime for a couple seconds to make sure your carbs are full of gas.
If nothing works, call me. pm sent.
And, I have extra battery screws.
It sounds like your battery has taken some abuse. Batteries just aren't that kinda girl, you gotta treat them with love. Now after all that you've abused her, she just won't put out for you anymore, no matter how much you shower her with gifts...err I mean charge the battery.
So what do you do when she won't put out anymore? Get a new one of course! :thumb:
Go get yourself a new battery, charge it for 10 hours @ 1A, then give it a shot.
