Is there anyone out there willing to call me to help with a couple of carb tuning troubleshooting questions, and I will call you back to absorb the cost of the call.
I have a flat spot when reving it up.
It's a 93 gs500e
Call me at 905 356 8066, or post here, but I don't have access where my bike is. Thanks!
Where in the rpm's is is hanging up?
Have you tried the WD40 trick? Spray WD40 around the carb boots to see if there is any air getting past.
Flat spot is typically a carburetion issue, most likey your needles need to be shimmed up .5-1mm, using washers, since you have a Canadian bike and probably already have size 40 pilot jets. Since I called you and you stated that you have a US model you may have the 37.5 pilots, replace those with size 40 non-bleeder type pilot jets and pull the brass plugs over the mix screws, too; expecially since the hang up is around 2000rpm.
Oh, and make sure both o-rings are under the black covers on top of the carb.
