Just a little tease before I get it all back on friday

Grab Bar:

The tank was still being clear coated over the graphics but its amazing already. The pictures don't do the color justice. It still has to cure for a while before I can put it back on the bike but I should be good to go next week. I get the pieces back on friday so I will take more pictures then and let you all see my graphics.

That looks awesome! I'd like to paint mine eventually... How'd you paint the tank? Did you sand it down first? How many coats did you use?? And how many cans of paint in all? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to paint mine once I'm all caught up on maintenance!

I didn't paint it myself, I had a professional job done. I ordered a quart of silver basecoat ($69) from Alsa Corp. He cleaned, kreemed, heated and removed the paint with a scraper and left the factory primer. Then he fixed my tiny little dent in my tank with bondo and a couple scratches in my side covers, primed again, and did 4 coats of basecoat. Then I went up yesterday when he sprayed the candy (2oz of candy per QT of clear). He did three coats of candy on everything. The fender, side covers, chain guard,  and grab bar got one more coat of plain clear and are done. The tank got wet sanded, the graphics were painted on, and cleared (plain) 3 more times. I'm just waiting for the clear to dry completely.

Her uncle is painting it so it is being done at a very discounted price.

I cheated, I used teslin and printed the graphics out and cut them out with an exacto knife, then he used them like stencils so he didn't have to tape the bike. It was basically straight shooting. The paint cost $150 and he's charging me about $250 for the rest of it, including fixing the dents. Everyone else, it would have cost double that at least. I kept it simple to keep the cost down.

schweet colour!  :thumb:

I'm a kind of biast because it's kind of close to the colour of my cage - always thought it'd look good on a bike.  looking forward to pics when it's all done.
