How the hell do you get that black screw shaped snap off of the lower fairing? Its the one that connects the two lower parts of the side fairings.
When I took mine off I just kepth the two sides together & wiggled it out from under the wheel in one piece. It can be done very easily. I didnt wanna mess with that screw.
Yeah, but im only replacing one side of the fairing. so i need to unsnap it.

It's the same type 'clip' that cars use to hold plastic trim in place, etc. It's actually two pieces, an expansion clip in the middle, and an outer plastic ring that holds the clip in place. If you can get a small screwdriver and pop the clip in the middle out, you can remove the entire clip. Its basically a larger version of the clip on the front, that holds the side cowling to the front cowling around the headlight. If you still need help, I'll go take a picture of mine with my digital camera.

That shows the clip 'popped out'. Hope that helps.

IMO, these things have limited useful lives, as in they can only be taken off a certain number of times before they should be replaced.
Yep, just use a small screw driver to pop the center pin out. No problems. Watch out though, there's two of them down there. You can see the one on the front of the cowl, the other is hiding underneath.
