Title: Bolts are missing!
Post by: Maduro Mistress on May 25, 2006, 06:59:11 PM
Things are missing this week.

My Oxtar boots are missing a toe slider bolt, my bike is issing a bolt on the chain guard - which is BEHIND the pegs. How the HELL does a bold fall off from behind where the pegs are? This is friggin infuriating... I don't know crap about bikes, but this makes me scared!

Now's the time to learn. Time to start checking all your bolts and tightening! :thumb: Vibration is a pain (my shifter fell off on my NEW bike once....I figure it vibrated off...boy did I start checking stuff after that!!!)

My chain guard fell off last year while I was out riding.  After checking out things closer I've found lots of missing bolts.  It's a little freaky.  I try to double check everything when I change the oil now.

M

Yeah...  My bike is missing a bolt too...  But, it's 'cause I broke it.

Get a torque wrench...  Grab your manual...  Start at the beginning and work your way to the end.

I've lost a bunch of bolts here and there. To name a few: exhaust header bolt, muffler hanger bolt, fairing bracket bolt, a bolt that goes into the hooked piece of metal that helps hold the toolkit down, a few others.

I feel your pain.

My sister's S40 is slowly ripping the license plate in half...  It's about half-way through the plate...  And it only has about 2500 miles on it.  :o
