Title: low idle

hey guys i have a problem i was wondering would cause my bike to idle under 1000 it seems no matter what i do i can not get to idle above 1000 it will not die buy it idles really low thanks

You probally did this but I'll ask anyway.  Did you warm up your bike for at least 10 min before adjusting the idle screw?

i have cleaned the carbs the air/fuel screw is out 2 1/2 turns new plugs kinda of baffled on this one floats are set

Like previously posted, did you warmt he bike up for a good 10 minutes before adjusting the idle screw?

The implication is that willam.betts adjusted the idle down to 1,000 RPM.  If that's true, then he could have solved the problem before asking the question.  :dunno_white:

On my ('99) bike the idle goes up as the engine gets hotter, and I have to adjust it down.  The only exception is when I accidentally pull the choke on a little while going down the road, especially in hot weather.  In that situation the bike tends to die when I come to a stop, and it's hard to start until I notice the choke and turn it fully OFF.

Personally I think he did all of the above mentioned and forgot to adjust the idle screw....

no i think i found the problem the sprint that move the butterfly valve on the the 2nd carb is missing
