Ok guys, anyone following my trials and tribulations with this bike knows of the many small annoyances, major problems and near dropping mid corner power loss (front end loading sucks) that I have endured to make my GS work, so now I have a realatively minor problem.
Stupid freaking Tacho decided to poop out one day right after a 10.5k shift, now registers revs, but not accurately. What the heck? Goes too slow, never too fast.
Thoughts, operation procedures? Scalpel? Sledge Hammer?
As always, Circles Center going all out against the demon/gremlin/zombies. :2guns: Just asking for another mag.
Apparently the tach is warrentied...but i've been waiting for my new one for about a month. :bs:
check to make sure the other end of the tach cable is securely attached at the engine. mine would come loose on a regular basis and actually pop out. no reading at that point on the tach yours might be half in half on its way to falling out. thats one idea.
Make sure it's tight on both ends... There's a little seal in the engine connection too...
Make sure it's lubed and not binding...
Make sure the ends of the cable aren't chewed.
Pulled it, came out in two pieces (ROFLMAO) Beautiful.
Mystery Solved!
Just like Slowe30's tach cable -- except he went partially down a mountain to induce the problem.
