So I installed the clubman bars I got today and now I have a couple of problems
1. My clutch won't engage until I let it all the way out...before it would catch earlier...how can I fix that???
2. When I accelerate at 7k rpm it hesitates then shoots to around 9k before it starts again...really odd
I suppose these issues are realted to me swapping the handlebars but I don't know for sure...any help would be appreciated (as always)
definitely related. make sure the cables arent binding up on anything. you've shortened the distance from handlebar to clutch & carbs but the cable is the same length. so check the routing of the cables and check to see if they're working properly. my guess is they're catching on something like a kink in the line.
After following pantablo's advice...
... take a look at my first-ever, really-needs-to-be-reshot, 1-minute video. (Follow the "Adjusting the Clutch Lever" link at the top of my home page (http://www.bbburma.net/).)
okay...makes sense about shortening the distance, but it is going to be an ongoing problem even if it is a kink in the line or something? How would you suggest to resolve the situation?
if you readjust the routing and make sure the cables arent binding then it wont be a long term problem. When I installed my S-M bars I made sure (through sheer luck) that the routing went fine and I never had a problem with it. Once they're set up okay it wont be recurring.
