Ok ladies and gents, I found a beautiful, unused (like 2 cars a DAY) twisty road in my area and decided to blast up and down it today. Mostly to work on my troubles getting over really far.
At first I had trouble with anything approaching 45degrees, but then I added some more speed and did the push on the inside handlebar thing. (Not really a push, more of a thinking of pushing, EXTREMELY subtle.) Got down to somewhere in the neighborhood or 60 degrees.
Remember that ZL1000 I talked about scratching with on the A roads? (freeway) Well my buddy had the 100hp behemouth out to play. That thing has the least sorted suspension EVER, it needs help SOOOOOO bad. And to lose like 200lbs (It weighs 700 - 800 he says) Things get real hairy when you lean that thing.
I carried enough bottle rocket through the corners to keep ahead in all but the flat out sweepers.
Funny thing though, at the end we pulled over to settle down before we re-integrated with the public I was stoked, he was scared of his bike. It was "Utterly unpredictable" in the corners. The huge power hit at 4k didn't help either.
Anyways thought I'd share the giant killing prowess of our bikes and a little technique that did it for me.
For lack of knowing where similar roads exist out here, I've been getting my leaning in on the expressway ramps. I pushed it pretty stinkin far today, and I must say, the GS didn't leave me too freaked out at all. I gotta find me one of those roads, man. Congrats on some new skills, though :thumb:
45 and 60 degrees? Eh, a bit exaggerated I feel. Usually only very very skilled street riders (with plenty of trackdays) and professional racers can obtain 60 degree leans.

I get most of my leaning done on the on/off ramps of my local highways too.
I'm close to about 45 degrees. Could the 60 degree comment be about the 60 degrees between bike and road??? :dunno_white:

I'm guessing, not like a had my geometery kit out and was measuring. (kinda concentrating on missing the manhole covers.)

OMG, there are roads like that everywhere out here. You need to get ahold of some one to ride with.

Yes, I do :icon_confused: I know a bit to the north of me there is a super twisty road, but I haven't the guts to try it yet, as I think there is a decent deal of traffic on it...
