79 hp...you'd still have trouble.... :thumb:
who was the guy with the turbo GS in cincinatti? That one did 70~whp.
I'm building a turbo XJ400...using a GT25 oil cooled turbo and a 2.5" downpipe and a 60mm carburetor (draw-through). So far I'm down $225 and I expect to be in the 70whp area.
My SV was dyno'd at 72 rear wheel HP. It really doesn't feel that much different than the GS. It is different for sure, but it isn't enough to make you poop yourself.
100, 110 HP? That is probably another story. So catching 600rr, ZX6rr, R6, Gix Six, et al., probably hard to do.
Hahaha, wasn't so much talking about a straight line. Sure they CAN out corner me, but do they know their bike enough to do it? LOL.
mine makes almost 70 ponies :)
and will run w/ 1st gen sv's alldaylong!!!
out of curiosity would a bottle of nitrus destroy ones engine on this bike?

almost 70? good lord what do u have done?
I don't know about the nitrous. These engines are VERY tough, but nitrous is very explosive. I"m going to do the Vance & Hines soon so I'll let you know how much difference that makes.
not much im sure.
You seem very negative LOL. S'all good though, the only person who needs to like my bike is me. I'll take it over an R6 any day. (Cause I don't get cramps on mine :)
no no im not being negative! im jsut being realistic. with just an exhaust u wont notice much other than the sound. if u do a rejet/filter/exhaust combo, u'll notice something. again its not gonna turn ur bike into an R6 but u'll notice a lil more umph.
trust me a gs is no were near an r6, ive raced enough times againts my buddy to know that one. i think the only chance a gs has againts a 600, is if the other rider either gives u a head start or he gives u some lenght.
yes nicholas a gs and an r6 arent comparable in that sense.
I was actually thinking of all that (once I get all pre-existing issues handled) and a port and polish job (Most certainly not my first)
The cam has the right duration, but I was thinking of poking around to see if I can get more lift.
That's all after I get everything sorted though.
I actually DID dyno my GS today...
I totally should have won a trophy...
33.6 HP
YEAH!!! O0
(Damn I need a tune up)

Dude. Your bike needs some help. With a lunchbox, mine pulled itself up to 41.7 even with bad jetting.
ya mine pulled 41 with lunchbox rejet and wileyco. bad exhaust seals and in need of valve adj too.
I hung with a V-max today. Due to the virtue of low weight and superior lean angle.

Yeah... I know... It needs new plugs, valve job, carb balance, new air filter, probably a new fuel filter... And probably some other stuff...
I'm pretty sure doing only that stuff would get me back up to 38 or so...
poor mistreated bike
Yeah yeah yeah... It was far more abused by the last owner... The oil looked like tar, the chain was 50% rust and had ~3" of play, the sprockets were TOAST, the wheels were cracked and square... I could go on...
