Yes, It did really well in the box office last weekend. Yes, a friend probally said it was good, my roommate sure did. But man did I ever think it sucked. Okay, it was decent. But for being the last of a trilogy it was a major let down. It ran about an hour and 40 min which wasnt enough to make a good story. The movie did not follow the comic nearly close enough, not that they have to but x-men comics are great stories to begin with, thats why a movie was made of it. The fight scenes aroused no amotion in me, the characters interactions were way too minimal and undeveloped. Like I said, they squeezed it down to a typical hour and a half. You know that great tingly feeling you get when the good guy gets his second wind and you just know hes gonna kick some serious ass. Well, nothing like that happened once, this is a SUPERHERO ACTION MOVIE!!!! How sad. The first two had funny parts and serious parts, this one was devoid of the funny and basically this movie was, wow she didnt die, no way he died? Uh oh, she gets really mad now, now hes dead too? Lets stop that from happening OK well that was rather unfullfilling. The End.

Sucked. Example= Phoenix--ultimate cosmic power and all she does is stand around glaring at things.
I enjoyed it, but I was dissapointed overall. It had the potential to be freakin' AWESOME but it was too craptasticified. At least there were some laugh out loud funny things in it.
You have all ruined my faith in the X-Men.
Well an old guy like me, but an X-Men fan too, already told me it sucked. He said they changed directors on this episode, and blamed it on bad direction.
On a side note, I thought the Matrix series was all downhill after the fantastic first movie.
I'll probably just wait and rent the video of X-Men III now, rather than waste theater $. I can get cheaper popcorn for home too. :thumb:
I'm actually having a X-Men marathon right now. Just watched the first one, getting ready for the second. Damn do I love digital cables, big LCD TVs, and home surround sound.
Well, it was the worst of the three (which
is the sequel rule), but I wouldn't say it SUCKED...
It was
nowhere near as bad as:
Batman 3
Alien 3
Superman 3
Starwars Episode 3
Rocky 3
Hellraiser 3
Friday the 13th 3
Nightmare on Elm Street 3
Matrix 3
A.I. (I know it's not a 3, but it
really f%$king sucked)
[/list]
Anyway... I think it's worth seeing if you liked the other ones... But, if you're silly enough to get your hopes up about a movie sequel, don't bother seeing it. X-Men 2 broke the sequel rule... It was actually better than the first (Like Hellraiser 2, Evil Dead 2).
And... They totally set it up for another sequel.
Can anyone name a second sequel that was actually better than the original or the first sequel? Yeah... I didn't think so.

I'm thinking Die Hard with a Vengence, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I also like Lethal Weapon 4 and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Those are the only ones I can think of that challenge the first installations.
Just wanted to agree with the others... don't see this movie. it was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
waynes world 2?
I'm not an X-men fan.
I can't wait to see the new Superman movie tho.
The second one was the best.
Magneto picking up the golden gate bridge and destroying those cars were the only good parts.
Star Trek Wrath of Kahn was much better than Star Trek the Motion Picture
I thought it was alright.
Wolverine is cool because he is the only super hero I can think of that actually kills people.

rofl " die harder" :thumb:
A second sequel... Meaning a #3...
Ok... There are a few... But, very few.
Here's the rule: If the first and second movies were good, the third one will be worse than the first two.
If the first and/or second sucked, the third will seem good 'cause it's better than the worst one (See Star Wars Ep 1, 2, 3).
Even with Star Wars... #4 was good, #5 was good, #6 was good for half and the rest sucked. (Then #1, #2, AND #3 totally sucked)
Indiana Jones: The first was good, the second sucked (watch it again if you need to), and the third was good.
Harry Potter: I know one of 'em sucked, 'cause people that actually like the series said so... I couldn't care less... They were all about the same to me.
Star Trek: Wasn't Kahn the second one? :dunno_white:
Lethal Weapon: OK, you got me. They were all good, but the Third One was still the worst.
X-III was the weakest but not a total shitfest. It set up the series for extenstions more than anything. I know that they plan to make Magnito and Wolvarine spin-offs. I have heard rumors of a new X-men based movie but with the next generation of X-men, not the original cast because they have stated that there will not be an X-IV.
And Prof. X is not dead, if you stayed past the credits you would have seen this. I am left wondering what they are going to do with anything they might do from this point on though.
What did they show after the credits? I bounced right away, so I didnt' see.
basically that when the Phoenix killed Charles his contious left his body and went into the kid that was in the tape that he showed when he was teaching an ethics class, the tape that showed the kid that was born without a contious. So He got a new body.
I got it. I remember that scene. I was wondering why that put that in there. Maybe they should have showed that before the credits. Maybe a little important.
Duh.
First I'm not too sure who told you guys that this was a trilogy...Fox confirmed like over a month ago that X-Men 4 was in the making. There's also a wolvering spin-off in the works...which I can't wait for thanks to the same reason as stated before (he's the only one who kills people and he does it really really cool). There's probably going to be ones after that. I don't care how many they make...I'm an X-fan and I'll see them all and enjoy them as well (though some not as much as others).
I think I had a tremendous advantage over most people, though: When they gave the sneak to X-Men 2 at the end of X-Men, I knew Magneto was going to bust out and kick ass...and he did. What happened was what I expected and it was good. At the end of X2 they showed the Phoenix flying underwater and I automatically knew that X3 was going to suck. They introduced the phoenix all f%$ked up like and anytime they try to squeaze a 4 year long story into an hour and a half you just know it's going to reak. So overall my expectations were low, so they were easily exceeded making the movie enjoyable for me.
They screwed up a lot of stuff, though...chiefly with Juggernaut. The concept was good, but they forgot a very serious point: he's not a mutant. HE'd have crushed kitty and the little albino kid.
Also they keep on screwing up Magneto...they keep on saying and showing that he can only manipulate metal. Magneto manipulates and can CREATE magnetic fields. He can control everything...he's like a combination Goku and Luke Skywalker. The boy could move worlds if he wanted. Plastic guns and darts? Creat a magnetic barrier around them and crush them. Or if you want to get all "metalurgical" about it, he could have manipulated the iron and minirals in the people's blood and bodies to force them to shoot themselves...or cut the circulation off from their brains (which he actually did in the Age of Apocolypse when attacked by an assassin). I guess if they really expanded on Mangeto's abillities it'd be just like Kalee tells me...a really short movie.
Oh yeah...and they kill Scott and Xavier...what the f%$k?
Yeah thats what I said about Juggernauts powers being magical, and his helmet NEVER comes off so that his mind cant be probed, or whatever. Not to bash through walls. And what about Apocalypse? Jean Grey and Scott are sposed to get it on and have a super kid or something. Cable? BTW we are huge nerds.
-Ash
To be honest, everyone said Scott was dead...but they didn't show it nor was it confirmed by a body. Jean didn't remember. So he's probably not dead and they're just going to play it out like an "episode". I personally don't see too much trouble with them making stuff up to suit them, I just wish they'd leave established comic lines out of it.
Cable is Scott Summers' and Madeline Pryor's son...Scott marries Jean in the future and she plays the "step-mom" role. Madelyn was a clone of Jean Grey created by Jean Grey. When the Phoenix created it's double of Jean Grey (dark phoenix) for it's intersteller shinanigans the portion of Jean inside pursuaded it's self into suicide (basically). When the Phoenix Force came back to earth looking for the original Jean, her comatose body rejected it and it fell upon Sinister's clone. Mr. Sinister made this clone to fall in love in Scott and do the baby thang. Hence Cable.
One thing I do really like about the X-Men movies is that they got Patrick Stewart to play Xavier and Ian McKellen for Magneto. There's simply not a better people to use considering the amount of flash-backs they use. Why? Because they both look exactly the same now as they did 20 years ago. I really think PAtrick Stewart was born looking like that.
And so far there's a confirmed Magneto spin-off announced for 2007 and Wolverine for 2007.
I knew about the two spin offs but didn't know about X-4. All I had heard was that the cast was saying that they were not going to do an X-4. Anyway we will see and i will have to go and see them all, cause as Ash said, we are all nerds and who am i to disagree
I am ready for a Wolverine spin off. I really don't like all the other X-men.
I hope that in the Wovlerine spin off he rides a motorcycle and is a stunter and I hope he never wears gear at all and that when he loops a crazy wheelie everyone freaks out and the he stands up and he is already healed.
NEEEERRRRRRRDS!!! :thumb:
You guys rule! When I read posts like that I always hear the voice of "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons.
I'm glad they killed Cyclops... He's annoying and his power is stupid...
Now only if they'd left Storm as a small character and Halle Berry didn't have so many lines...
Oh... And more Mystique... Especially the panning body shots... Rebecca Romijn is just too hot. :icon_mrgreen:
But, how could the kill Stryker in the second one... He had crap-loads of plot.
Here's my question. What happened to Nightcrawler? Did I miss something?
Maybe he went back to Germany...
And... Who decided on the rating system? What's up with a 1-6 class? That seems odd... 1-5 or 1-10, sure. But, 1-6? WTF?
the class thing in the movie is ghey...there's only a "class" rating system in vague comics and for like card games and stuff. Traditionally, mutants don't have a "class" outside of the "that's really badass/not really that badass" system.
Yeah... It seemed like the writer played some X-Men card game or something...
Stupid. :dunno_white:

you would probably like ghost rider which will be release soon. don't know if nicolas cage is the best actor for ghost rider but we'll see.
enjoy x3 but not as much as the previous 2. they should have given bryan singer the money he wanted but instead fox is just cheap and lost him to sony and superman returns which i'm anxiously awaiting. if superman return is a blockbuster, sony will probably pay singer what he wants and he will never return to fox or the x franchise. what a shame. he was a great director and x2 was even better then x1, hands down.
Johnny Blaze.
