Riding along after about 80 - 90 miles I notice a pain in my touche. I'm sure others have had this happen. Right where your legg connects to your butt. The seat kills me!
Anyone had, and fixed this problem? My tail end hurts.
It hurts my ass too. Ummm gel type bike shorts????
The GS's seat is about an inch and a half too skinny on each side for my boney arse on long trips. After about 75km the pressure gets the better of me and monkey butt starts to set in. I've thought about buying a used seat from a wrecker and getting it done up with some thicker, wider foam, possibly with some of that NASA style memory foam in it.
I ordered an airvent cushion #1 standard ultracool.

I'll try to remember to update you when it arrives.
ummmm just keep riding . it gose nummmm after awile :P but then when you try to get off your bike its like ....... your stiff as a stick . :)
Just curious do you have an 89-00 or a 01+ ?? My 93 really doesn't bother me :dunno_white:
I believe the 89-00 seats have a Corbin replacement available. If you have one of those years, get one of them suckers. That would be "schweet". :icon_razz:
Or, you could get one of the Suzuki Gel seats for about $100, but I don't know if you'll find any. Or, you could slide back. Good luck.

Here is an animated GIF someone posted years ago, before I got my Suzuki gel seat. One of these days I'll take my own pics. :icon_rolleyes:

Personally, I prefer the stock seat on my '99. I only swap it for the gel seat when my wife wants to come along.

Woman, your 80lbs soaking wet   O0
100 thank you   but seriously...my 93 doesn't bother me a bit I could ride all day on it, but AJ's 01 was terrible

Lee from Toronto talks about the Airhawk pad he put on his seat. I'm still thinking about getting one but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Corbin probably makes one for the GS, if not they will do your seat pan up however you want it. I used to live about 6 miles from their factory and they will treat you right. You might try Sargent seats, also.
Corbin makes one for the '89 -00 models any model after that and your screwed. There are numorous threads about them giving the run around to people with '01+ bikes.

1990. One of the first :P
Yeah today was pretty bad, I clocked about 200 miles today and I want relief!!!!
Try sliding back in the seat.
jh
Bicycle shorts; the padded kind (if you can find them anymore! :icon_rolleyes: ).
I'd love to ride my GS around Australia. So I am paying close attention to this thread.
I find the 05 comfortable on trips I have done (up to 3 hours max so far). But as you know Australia is a big country so I have a feeling I will have no feeling, down under.
u could always sit on the gas tank, or maibe try the second look seat
I do slide back to the passenger seat from time to time. And I'm 5'7 and have plenty of room. I did see a pair of gel padded shorts at the dealer the other day but they wanted like 80 dollars for them. Stupid dealer.....
I believe the corbin seat was kinda pricey which steered most people away from it. If you could find some sort of gel pack somewhere Im sure that you could install it and recover your seat. Pretty easy mod. O0
I ordered the Airhawk seat cushion off EBay today. I'll post again when I get it installed.
For sportbikes they recommend the large pillion seat.

You maybe failed to notice it's not just a "seat." It's a "Seating System." You pay for systems.

There's am idea! Bubblewrap your seat for long trips

I have a follow up now that I have ridden with the AirVent Ultracool seat cushion a couple of days.
It may be a slight improvement, but for me, not better than padded cycling shorts.
The foam is too soft and compresses flat. It does not cover the design flaw of the forward sloping seat.
It does stay in place when you stand up at 70.
To make it simple, I do not recommend it.
