the ZX14 or the hayabusa.
It seems like it would be the 14, but it kinda seems like it just tacked on that extra 100 cc's just to out do the hayabusa
EDIT: also what are some of the hayabusa's rival bikes from other brands.... such as, whats yamaha's "hayabusa"
uhm, there is a video out there where the ZX-12 (I think) was keeping up with the Busa, and spanking on it, So I'm thinking the ZX-14 has it by a bit.
But I don't think they were going for Super Sport, but more, High Power Super Touring bike....
To me I doesnt seem that the 100 or so CC's would make that much of a difference in speed, I mean after you break the speed of sound theres really not that much else that matters.
Some tests have proven that the GSX-R 1000 is faster than the Busa (GSX-R 1300), too. I guess it depends on what the test is and who is testing it.
You have to factor in weight.

Yeah, weight and altitude and maneauvering and modifications and rider and.... :icon_lol:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5298899968401074611&q=Hayabusa
they run the ZX12R and the Busa side by side AND they swap riders.
He said laying big black darkies hahah
If these bikes arent for racing (brakes tires and whatnot) then what the hell are they for (other than popping boners at)

I don't think the Busa (and others in the same class) was really designed specifically for racing, it is more of a "sport touring" machine. But then again, why is is a GSX-R if not for racing? Ask Suzuki marketing :icon_razz:

Ok, I'll ask 'em tommorrow
Be sure to tell'em Phaedrus sent you. 8)
You know what the sad thing is, If they took the "R" out of the name, the insurance rate would drop through the floor
Maybe if they'd call it the GHSX1300
Also the guy at the end of the video, said that suzuki and kawi are dropping both lines, maybe he meant in Austrailia
What about a GSX 1400 (http://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-series/GSX1400.shtml)? :dunno_white:
I would take one of them for a spin, too.
i know im going to get banned but i just dont like naked bikes. and yeah i would buy that bike and then consumate the purchase, have a half human half bike hybrid beast.....Kinda like K.I.T.T from night rider
but if I had a choice.........BUSA
YOu know what they say about guys who have 'Busa's????
No I... I really dont.
"Hey man, nice bike!" ?
nevermind... you wouldnt get it
Is that a reference to a small phallus?
You wish
Well, you were probably taking it in the direction that guys who have busa's are trying to "comphensate for something" or some other equally presumptuous thing. :icon_rolleyes:
On second thought, that would be pretty judgemental of you to automatically assume something like that. And you aren't the kind of person to pass judgement on someone for something so trivial as what kind of bike they own, right? ;)
If it is a reference to a small wang, what does that say about guys on a GS that we have enormously large wangs
Depends on who you ask. If you ask AJ, I guess it means that guys on GS's have Busa-envy
It is an awfully presumptuous thing for you to do to presume you know what I am thinking.
I think you think that I thought that you knew about that one time.
Maybe she was thinking that they are short...I can flat foot on a busa and I'm stretchin on the gs
Then let us in on what you think and it will take out all of the guess work. Otherwise..

Does anyone know the HP and 1/4 for the ZX-14?
cycleworld does
gstwin doesnt
sooooooooo nevermind
so so jaded you all are
Well AJ, I read the article about the ZX14 on CycleWorld and didn't find any specific #'s.
All I found was:
QuoteKawasaki has so far made no claims, but 165-170 rear-wheel hp seems likely given the current ZX-12R's 160-hp output.
at http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=4&article_id=11
In referencing the ZX-12, I found more information on:
http://www.angelfire.com/linux/ldrpg/
Which states:
ZX-12R - 159.8rwhp @ 10,250rpm / 91.4ft lbs @ 7,750rpm
Hayabusa- 158.0rwhp @ 9,750rpm / 98.4ft lbs @ 7,000rpm
So apparently the ZX-12R makes more stock HP than the Busa, you can be certain the ZX-14 does. The ZX also had a higher top speed and a quicker 1/4 mile.
However, Miss AJ, I couldn't find anywhere on cycleworld where it said how much HP the ZX-14 makes? Did you see it on there? Maybe you could point me to it? :dunno_white: It could very well be on there, but I looked and couldn't find it.
ummm kawi has made no claims....... but 165-170 seems possible
Ahh, well thanks for the help. Haha.
Maybe next time before blindly pointing someone in a direction for information, be sure that the information exists there. :thumb:
ok asshat here you go....
http://www.motorcycledaily.com/08february06_zx14.htm
That is Motorcycle Daily, not Cycleworld :flipoff:
GOD DAMN IT CHILDREN!
STOP
well i read the article and there is a little box in the magazine that is not online.... I am pretty sure it is in there.... and i never referred to cycleworld.com
...and you are? :icon_rolleyes:
Just to clarify, the Hayabusa is not a GSX-R. It's a GSX1300R. There's a difference, especially to Suzuki guys.

This is how I see it.
The zx14 and hayabusa are supersport touring bikes: slightly bigger and more comfy than say the GSX-R style all out sportbike lines.
The ZX12 was damn fast but basically a zx6R on steroids. Not nearly as comfortable, but insane fast.
All of them are great in their own respects. But the speed/power differences are so darn slight you could probably not tell the difference. Which one is faster probably comes down to the rider.

That was the conclusion that Motorcyclist determined when they drag tested the Busa and ZX-12. Their rider felt more comfortable on the Busa though, and was able to launch it better and thus recorded faster times on it.

+1. Good catch Alpha. I know people call that call the Busa a Gixxer 1300, so I had always assumed it to be a Gixxer. It is actually a Gix 1300r. :icon_razz:
For the GSX-R series
GS: General Series
X: 4 valves per cylinder
R: race ready
For the 'Busa:
GS: General Series
X: 4 valves per cylinder
R: REALLY F$%#ING FAST
what does SV stand for
What does X5 stand for? :icon_razz:

To the power of five! Five times the original awesomeness!
And it looks cool.
My assumptions for other models:
TL - Twin Liter
GSF400/600/1200 Bandit (S models):
GS - General Series
F - Four
S - Sport
GSXF Katana:
GS - General Series
X - 4 valve head
F - Faired or Four (probably Faired)
GS500E:
GS - General Series
E - Economy
GS500F:
GS - General Sport
F - Faired
so GS500 is just general series 500. like i have the 01 version???

I'd assume so, yes. With the restyle they might havefelt it didn't look like an econo-box anymore, but more like a proper naked bike.
