I kinda babied it for a while then decided to open it up and holy hell its scary fast i didnt think it would be but once in the meat of the pwer band it wants to come up on me even at 65 mph or so and i mean easy. does anybody have an idea what kinda power that thing produces at rear wheel? just kinda curious

I think that's crankshaft horsepower. It should be about 95 at the rear wheel.
550lbs wet weight. Damn.

yeah, a 93 is tame compared to most current 600cc (or 750) bikes. my Rr is making 105 at the wheel.
Ahh... a water cooled gixxer... check out some ad info listed below..
The second year or the water-cooled engine, the 1993-year's GSX-R750WP received mostly cosmetic changes. The liquid-cooled DOHC 4 valve engine was designed to lower the center of gravity by positioning the crankshaft low. The valve angle was set at 16 degrees, 4 degrees less than that of the final air-cooled SACS engine Thinner valve stems and Direct-action valve train also contributed to make this engine a compact unit excelling at high rpm, achieving high compression ratio of 11.8, the highest in this class. SCAI (Suzuki Condensed Air Intake) system allowed optimal intake of fresh air to the engine under all conditions.

agreed. a friend of mine just picked up a 2006 gixer750 and I took it for a spin last week. wow, big differences from even end of 90's supersports.
either way, nice ride, have fun and be careful!
u should post some pics of ur new bike
yea ill post some pics but kinda pissed off now lol i guess you get what you pay for cause my tranny locked up yesterday afternoon . I found complete tranny on ebay for 100 bucks :thumb: but im not looking forward to changing it myself. I know a guy that stunts and stuff and he does all his own work says its not hard to do and he would do it for me so i guess thats not too bad just kinda pissed about it.
Good thing you know somebody!
That doesnt seem fun for someone whos never done it before.

I saw a 1990 GSXR750 at the stealership with 16k miles, they were askin almost 4 grand for it though. I'm hanging onto my GS for a good while. Then I'm gonna buy be a brand spankin new GSXR750 for my ext bike :icon_mrgreen:
That's a little steep for a 750 oil boiler... They'll get it if it's in really good shape and find the right buyer...
