My leather gloves are getting a bit... smelly, and last week my friend's boxer drooled all over the left hand it. Any tips on cleaning? (My off-road gloves usually falls apart from wear and tear, even if they don't, I just wash them, but what to do with the leather stuff for the street?) :dunno_white:
hand wash them with soapy water is the best, then get a leather wax, to rewaterproof them. mmmm dog drool :icon_mrgreen: nice:D
I just did this, and one thing I immediately noticed was a better grip. It's weird, but I was having issues with slipping the clutch the past few months, and I couldn't figure out why. Apprently the winter had done a number on my gloves, because after I washed and treated them I was back to normal with working the clutch.
I used saddle soap with some water and a cloth to wash, let them dry, and then use mink oil with another cloth and then let them dry overnight. Lovely, and the tins were $3 each at Wal-Mart.

What about cleaning the inside of them?
Apparently it's a good idea to wash your hands after working on your bike... Not just jam the greeezzy bastards in your gloves... :icon_rolleyes:
