I just picked up this muffler a few days ago. It is the Carbon Fiber version with stainless steel endcaps. :icon_mrgreen:
I decided to go with the RACE baffle, and the quiet insert as the best setup. The other baffle type available is the ZYCLONE version, which is very close to stock. I was told by Yoshimura that many people send them their cans to have the race baffle installed as the Zyclone baffle was too quiet. :dunno_white:

Here is the pipe mounted. I painted the mid-pipe with High-heat manifold paint. 8)

As you can see, Yoshimura pipes are designed with subtle but unique features such as the engraved endcap and muffler strap. ;)

Here is a rear shot. Notice that the can is OVAL. :icon_razz:

Here is the muffler just after I assembled the custom bent mid-pipe to the muffler. This setup weighs about 8 pounds less than stock!
After I finished I fired the beast up. It sound EXACTLY how a TWIN should, nice and DEEP! It sound more like a Ducati Monster. I find it is not extremelly loud, but it gets pretty loud when you go full throttle to 9000 rpm. As for jetting, all I did was shim the needles and the bike runs perfectly. For quality, fit and finish... no one can beat Yoshimura! :thumb:
thats nice. very sexy. did you bend the pipe your self or did yoshimura have a link pipe?? or did you get some one else to do it?
i had a mission trying to get my link pipe done
I brought the bike to a local muffler shop. He used a jig-saw to cut off the old pipe and custome bent the mid pipe out of 2 and 3/8 ths stainless with a 3 hole flange from a chevy on the end.
Very nice!!! I like the look of that....
Thats slick, what'd you end up paying? I've been considering getting a new exhaust.
I got the RS-3 from ebay for $50 bradn new and the mid-pipe was $60 including labor.
What bike is that can made for???
It looks awesome... except for the huge ugly badge they stick on the pipe. I don't understand why Yosh does that.

The muffler was for a Hayabusa GSXR1300, it was the left over muffler for the RIGHT side of the bike
nice nice, can you post a shot of the whole bike i'd like to see the whole enchilada.
Can you find out the part # for the "Chevy Flange" or at least where it belongs. It would make things easier for future reference.
thats weird when i asked the a performance shop if they could make that pipe, they said it was imposible because they didnt have the dimenstions to put it on. well naibe i need to search more on slip ons. hey i thought u could only get 600cc slip ons on our gs?
That carbon Yoshi looks great on your bike!!!!!
