WooHoo!! She's surfaced momentarily! :kiss3:
Now we probably won't see her the rest of the weekend....in fact, she probably took her blankie outside and is sleeping in the driveway next to her new baby right now.... :icon_mrgreen:
Don't worry, MM...the excitement wears off in about....hmm....how long have I had mine now? Wait...it hasn't worn off yet....I still go out to the garage and give hiim random hugs..... So...what's the midpoint between us..let's ride! ;)
Okay!!! The important stuff!!!! I just sold my soul for a different brand, please don't hate me, I still love it here!!!!!
I did trade in my GS, I wasn't going to, but the deal was too good to pass up... I put 11,000 miles on her in the year and two days I owned her, and I will have lots of good memories. I know she will go to a good home and teach someone else how much fun it is to ride a motorcycle..
So, that being said, I bought "Squirrel" (that's her name) today - deal's been in the works for a week - and she came fully decked out with about 1K worth of extras, so sorry scratch, I can't give you the turn signals, they'd already pulled them off and had flush ones mounted...
I put about 56 miles on her - I got her with 4 - and I rode in all the conditions - wind, gravel, day, night, dark and finally WET!!! Eugh - she's all dirty already (and yes, I did take a rag and clean her!!!)
I will not forsake you guys here, I loved my baby Zuke and I will love my new Squirrel just as much. Wow, what a difference in bike - 39.5hp to 111.4!!!!
(i'll post "real" pics later)

Very nice bike! If you dont mind me asking what kinda of value did you get for the trade in? I have a 2005 GS with only 1700 miles and the dealership will only give me 3K.
Thats drop dead gorgeous, a new person to convert to a kwaka - im going to pick mine up today woooooo :icon_mrgreen:
oh hellz yea, I love the ZX6r. One of these days I will own one in the Titanium color.

a wheelie cam? LOLOL - I got a cam, no mount, and I'm too scared to ride it "properly" it's like 3 x the hp of my baby GS!!!

Wow, that's really low - I had an 04 with 7000 miles the first time I was going to trade it in and two dealerships said 3K no prob, so yours should be much, much more... I ended up robbing them they gave me $2500 for it - with 10,700 miles!!!! I almost died.

   I didn't mean a WHEELIE cam!!   I meant a movie cam so you can have a friend take a movie of you riding around a bit so we can hear her roar and see how she rides!! :icon_razz:
Very nice. The 636 was definitely a top consideration for me before I finally picked the 600RR (http://www.projectrich.com/gallery/20060519_cbr600rr/). It was, in fact, that very model I was looking at. I just loved the red rims. A couple of friends have them and absolutely love them. The seat is unbelievably plush and the mid-range torque definitely made it very comfortable on the street. Ultimately I picked the 600RR, but the 636 is a real winner on the street. Congrats! :thumb:
If you get a chance give a a review in a few weeks. The zixxer is in my top two for the next bike I'll be getting (probably this winter).

absolutley - I'll do a write up and try and get a video for you guys too... I have to wait till I can ride it properly - it's still a little hairy! I haven't gotten over 7k rpms yet, and that is super-warp speed already!!!! She runs at 114.4 hp -
Right now I have about 150 miles on her and I can say the following.
- WOW, she is extremely comfy, the position is a whole lot different than the GS, but you do feel it in your lower back - I'll have to start doing some exercises to strengthen it!!!
- highway speeds are amazing,
- it's even lighter and more flickable than the GS
- the rear tire and suspension are AWESOME! now i know what suspension is supposed to feel like!!!
- it really goes WHEREVER you look
- the tank is smaller - 4.5 gallons or something, so instead of about 200 miles to a tank you get about 150-160 - but it has a fuel light which is cool! - oh and you have to use premium
- your arms hit the tank at low turn speeds (a little disconcerting, but with some practice I'll be able to do u-turns)
- adjustable brake (very cool) so you know how close it is to your throttle
- adjustable idle screw right by your leg - very cool
- NO CHOKE! WOOHOOO!!!!
- dual disk petal brakes in the front - wow, stopping power!
- (needs a steering dampner)
- really wants to lean already! Cornering is a little hairy - not used to it at all, but I'm sure it will be fantastic!
- battery is almost impossible to get to - you have to actually run wires so you can connect cables if you need to jump or jump someone - otherwise you have to take off the tank!!! EEK!!!
- very inexpensive (compartively) bike with room for TONS of mods and upgrades that will never ever get boring.
I'll write up a proper review with notes and paragraphs when I take her out for the first time... :icon_mrgreen:
I was on the local twisties today and a zx6-r passed me going the other way (blue... blech). Anyway he didn't seem to be going very fast, so I turned around at the next viewpoint and caught up to him just so I could stare at it's beautiful ass all the way home. (It's ass, not his)
He must have either just bought it and was still getting used to it or had no clue what that bike was capable of because I was getting bored he was going so slow. Either way I was happy
I just read what I wrote and realized how pointless my story was.... sorry to put you all through that.
some new pics of my baby girl - size warning!!!! (They're big) lol
If you check out the fourth photo and look at the clouds they are almost in a perfect line following the bike (well at least I think so!!!) :icon_rolleyes:

take your time and get used to the power...then it will get FUN. also, remember in this riding position its important to use more of your core strength to support your body, and your legs wrapped around the tank. god I cant wait till my next trackday (6/19!).
That is really hot. I actually like the blue ZX6-R alot.
I'm considering one of those for next summer. Maybe I can't test ride yours, Miranda?
Pablo: do you ride on the street anymore or are you strictly a track man?
Where's the pony on the handle bars? Is there no room for it or did they take it as part of the trade in?

Hark! I would not trade my poor little pony! She is at home with the rest of the ponies, I am now trying to find a plastic squirrel to decorate!
Please help me!!! :icon_mrgreen:
Did the seat cowl come with or did you have to pay extra?
Nice pics but holy crap I would be super nervous taking my bike onto a dock. With my luck I'd drop it and it would end up in the water.
I was going to say the same thing :icon_mrgreen:
