Use a little heat from a hair drier or something.  They should peel off pretty easy.  Don't use a gun, it will leave a mark.

There are couple of methods, i have heard one that you have to warm the sticker with hair dryer, so it comes off, then work on the goo.

I have to take those stickers off too, but little scared about the tank. My sticker are in german, which makes it even worse

Go to a auto paint supply store. 3M makes a sticker remover and a adhesive remover.  Just spray and wait til it puckers, scrape with a plastic bondo spreader.  Too easy   :thumb:

Terpintine/ white spirit. On a rag, soak the sticker then rub with the rag and wipe off all the sticker pieces. If you want to maintain the sticker to put it somewhere else, dont use this method as it just disintigrates the sticker without damaging the paint.

I got mine off by boiling a pot of water and just pouring and peeling. The water is hot enough to warp the sticker and make it easy to peel up. If it get difficult, just add more hot water and then start peeling some more. The goo residue is easily cleaned up with any solvent. I used WD-40
