KBB is showing it to be around $5710 from retail so I'd see if you could grab it for $5500. :thumb:

I'm diggin' the way this one (http://www.rhencullen.co.uk/_borders/z1000.jpg) looks.

Are those the turn signals on the bottom fairing?  Or are they actual driving lights too?

Same here.  I think they're turn signals tho...  I can't see any turnsignals in the front.

The Z1000 is on my short list (7) of dream bikes.  That is one of the better examples I've seen.

No mirrors on it and no turn signals, tho.  I'd love to test ride a Z1000.

I'm looking at one of these as my next bike (Fall/Winter of '07). The red and black '03 is where it is at though.

There is a red/black 03 leftover at the dealer here in town. He is asking $6,500. I think I'll offer him $5,000 this fall if I sell my GS. I personally think they are a sweet bike and you don't see many. They just don't seem to sell around these parts. My friend found an 03 leftover last spring (05) near Lancaster, PA and the dealer had it reduced to $5,199. He thought about it and went back up two weeks later it was gone.  :dunno_white:  :cookoo:

To answer your question, I think $6,000 is too steep for an 03 with 8k on it. Should be closer to $5,000. Atleast where I live.

Does anyone know what year the z1000 is in in its production cycle? Like when was the last major update to the bike? I'm just wondering if it will be all new for 2007 or pretty much the same.

Introduced in 2003, the Z1000 has remain unchanged to this date. It's possible the Big Zed will go through a revamp in the 2007 model year, possibly using a detuned ZX-10R lump to compete more directly with the FZ1. However, it may go in an even more cut down direction and try to compete with the Speed Triple and Honda 919. Personally, I like it just the way it is. The only things that could use improvement in my eyes are the front forks. If they had 3-way adjusters on both of them, that's where the cincher for me would be.

Yeah, I'd like to see it keep the (relatively) cheap price tag, so I hope they don't go crazy with it.

All they need to do is drop the 636 forks and triples onto it and maybe lower them in the triples a bit to keep the stock ride height and they'll be fine.
