Title: What is this part?
Post by: Ammanas on June 11, 2006, 06:14:40 PM
I'm trying to identify this "seal" that is located on the right (clutch) side of the crankcase cover but inspecting schematics at bikebandit has done me no good.

I believe this seal is leaking oil; the signal generator compartment should not have oil inside it yet has leaked oil consistantly for several months. So I'd like to replace it.

Oh yeah, one more thing; anyone got an extra brake lever they'd like to sell? Mine broke when the bike fell, so it's missing around a third of the end.

The seal is listed on the Crankshaft schematic, #12.

Do I need to buy parts 9 & 10 as well? How the blood do you get this thing out anyway? It looks pretty thick.

You do not need to replace them. 9 (nut) & 10 (washer) hold the gear on. The case cover needs to be removed to change the crank seal. Buy a gasket for the case cover as well.
