Title: So, ladies....
Post by: LPC2104 on June 12, 2006, 11:55:24 AM
Where you get your gear from?  I'm helping my boss (as in wife) get some gear.  I've been looking on kneedraggers.com but they don't have any of the stuff modeled and they don't have the comments that new enough has.  I'm looking for perf'd leather jacket, all leather gloves.  Boots, helmets and pants aren't giving me problems but I can't believe the limited amount of stuff out there for women.  Yet another reason I'm glad to be a man.  :)

Anyway, if any of you have any recomendations I'd love to hear them.

I got my wife's ICON jacket on ebay...  Got a great deal.  Tuscadero (http://www.mawonline.com/photos/icon_tscdro_wmns_lthr_jkt_wht.gif)

It's not fully perf'd, but it has LARGE perferation up both arms and it's WHITE...  So, she's NEVER hot in it.

I got her the A*s SP2 gloves at a local dealer...

And we're STILL looking for boots and leather pants...

There's not much out there, there is more if you are larger than a size 6 though. I'm looking to get some fieldsheer gear (jacket and pants) available through  Motorcycle Superstore (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com) and the prices are decent. You're going to have to have her try on stuff if you can, its hard to tell whats going to fit right. As for gloves, you might be better off finding a mens glove that fits right, women's gloves I've found are poor quality.

Totally...  It's even worse for short grrls...  My wife is 5'2".    So, nothing really fits her right...  Even her XS Icon is a little big...

A*s makes good women's gloves.

Yesterday she looked so good in her gear, I didn't want to ride the GS.

Just need to track down some leather pants.   :icon_mrgreen: :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

Went with Joe Rocket for gloves and jacket . . .
Helmet went to www.helmetharbor.com
Gloves www.newenough.com
Jacket bought at local MC store ( I do like to support local buisness's when they have what I wan't and prices are not much higher.

Best thing for her todo is goto a few MC shops and try on some gear all brands are not the same sizes.  Or maybe if you have a motorcycle show comming take her there and try on some stuff.

Oops borther -in law's helmet was helmet harbor I think I got my wifes helmet from the MC show.
and GREAT idea Pandy see if you have a cycle gear near you. . we have two in atlanta www.cyclegear.com

I have Joe Rocket gear, it all fits decently and I'm reasonably pleased with it. Nova Jacket and Ballastic 5.0 pants. The jacket is really cute and you can definetly tell I'm a woman... but if was shopping again, this jacket is really cropped short and considering how low most women's jeans sit these days, I'm left with a gap to the cold air across my back. It's fine when work with the motorcycle pants, but not great with jeans unless it's a really hot day.

My pants thought I love... they are the only women's pants I tried on that are actually shaped for women. Nearly all the rest of the pants, I swear, they just take a small men's pant and call it a women's medium - which totally doesn't work. These pants actually have curves.

My gloves are Joe Rocket too... they are a small men's glove. I tried on lots of both men's and women's and these ended up fitting better than the ladies gloves.

Helmets is where I have had a hard time. My head is tiny. An extra-small in most makes is still too big. I ended up buying a "Youth" helmet from HJC, there aren't very many youth/child motorcycle helmets out there so I didn't have many to pick from.
