Title: Front Springs: Progressive or Race Tech ??
Post by: Ripper on June 12, 2006, 10:42:15 PM
Progressive or Race Tech ??

I've ridden neither.  From the posts, it sounds like the progressive might be soft still.  I'm 70", 180 lbs, so thinking the fitted Race Tech might be firmer.  Are they still comfortable for daily cruising??

Has anyone tried both ??

What type of riding do you do? From what people have said, mainly street riding and commuting with some light sport riding and progressives are the way to go. For any sort of agrressive sport, straight rate (RaceTech) is the way to go.

I've found my RaceTech springs to be comfortable around town, if only a slight bit bump over the little bumps.

Anything is better than stock.

I'm 6' 175ish...  Progressives are nowhere near as soft as the stockies...

Whatever you pick, get the shaZam! stock springs outta there.

Progressives are cheaper...  I'm cheaper...  I went with progressives...  I like 'em.

I installed progressives yesterday. Amazing! Not soft at all. I am 175lbs. I also replaced oil with w15.
Totally sweet ride. Both smooth and firm.

Has anyone installed a progressive spring with a Race Tech cartridge emulator?
I know there are several out there with full Race Tech packages of CE with straight rate.
