Title: Jet Question
Post by: budget speed demon on June 13, 2006, 01:28:16 PM
ok. well I've got my K&N lunch box filter on its way, and my vance and hines system is being polished by my buddy, so now I need the jets to rejet it when everythings ready. the question is; what jets do I need?

in Green I highlighted the main jet that I think I need.
then when it comes to the pilots I'm not sure witch ones I need. is it the one that I highlighted in blue? or in red?

btw I've got a 1993 GS500E

The one in red, HOWEVER, the picture is of bleeder-type pilot jets, and you want non-bleeder type pilot jets.

so is the code right? but the picture wrong?

is VM22/210 the right code for non-bleeding jets?

I'm so lost here.

I'm not sure...who are you ordering from?  It might be worth giving them a call.  They have a 800 number, right?

where can I get these? every shop I've been to knows nothing about jets and can't help me out. they all show me the page of jets and tell me to show them what I need. I don't suppose somes got an extra set of these laying around? where can I get them online?
and do I have the right main jets? the large round type?

42-7130 is the pilot number from the tucker rocky catalog.
The bleed style ... ironically 37.5 in that is almost like 40's in bleed, but I have only 1 case that I proved it in. Stay with the non bleeds.
Cool.

Got them! I had to go to a specialty race shop about an hr out of the city, but I got them. $16 for two main jets and two pilot jets. Sure beats the $150 for the Dyno jet kit. Currently I'm just sanding and painting my Vance & Hines system witch has a polished can thanks to my buddy, and along with the clamp on K&N I'm gonna have one mean sounding GS.  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:. Man am I ever excited.
