nope, didn't crash but went and got another bike last night. 2001 Honda RC51 with 3500 miles on it. When I first test rode it I was a little worried with it being a liter bike and all. But the power is really delieverd nice, nothing crazy like the I4 bikes. I was really looking for a VFR but this was local and the price was right.
Hopefully I'll get some pics posted today.
Do you think my GS will get pissed :dunno_white:? It still a twin, just doubled
My son wants the GS to turn into a stunt bike so he doesn't mess up his 2001 F4i, but my wife is like your crazy!
Anyway, now our stable is full (lots of PONIES :thumb:! & too much other junk ).
where are the pics???
pics please!

Uh, your new RC51 (which kicks ass) is still at twin, not doubled. the VFR is a v4, not the RC.

I'm pretty sure he meant from a 500cc to liter bike...
i believe there were cooling issues with the rc from that era, but excellent ride none the less :thumb:

that would sound about right except how he worded it. you're right though-probably what he meant. still a twin but doubled is different than still 500cc, just doubled...maybe I read it wrong.
OK, OK I'm working on getting the pics up...just gotta find a place to post them too.
Sorry for my bad choice of words in referring to it be a twin but doubled. I was on my way out the door this morning to have the bike looked over by the local Honda dealer and was just not thinking clearly. 500cc's per cylinder now... :thumb:
I spent more than half the day up at the dealer having the oil changed, flushing the brakes and clutch systems. And then just looking over everthing with the fairing off. They were all real empressed with the shape it is in...it appers that the fairs have ever been off the bike before, and they were in the best shape they had ever seen too.
Here you go...

Whoa now! Somebody wants to get to work really fast!
You go to Georgia to pick it up?
I've been burning the work candle at both ends and the middle. This Friday I will have worked 19 days straight.
Starwalt is one tired, sore, boy.
You need to come by and show me that purdy thing.
NO! -- no squidly GS stunt conversions in our town. We gots laws against that type of thing around here.
It ain't natural. Balance of the universe and laws of physics kind of stuff, ya know.
:)
I LOVE the RC51! Georgous bike man! :thumb:
Hopefully it will be my next bike too...
Thanks, at first my son was like why do you want a V twin? Get an F4i like mine.
Heres a picture of his...

I grew up hearing old muscle cars and Harleys and he grew up with the imports, but I think the more he hears the RC & the little bit he rode it, he starting to understand why I like it.
Hahahaha. Sorry, but your son has bad taste I think. Chrome wheels, flame stickers. hee hee hee
Do I think the GS will be pissed? How cares??? I'm pissed for that matter.
Did it set you back much? I'd like one of those for next summer.
Dream bike.
Alphafire... The flames are painted on, and yes, under the clear coat and the seat is stitched with the flame pattern too, deep red thread used to match the paint. The seat lady traced them off the bike to match.
But get this, he bought it from a girl, the flames and seat where PINK (also stitched with the flames). He just had all the PINK change to silver.
Starwalt...Yep I told him no stunting the GS. If anything I'll sell it for so I can get a Power Commander and Pipes for the RC51. Or trade it for dual sport/ dirt bike he can use to wheelie and stuff at the farm. Or maybe turn it into a track bike (Dgyver I might need your help with that).
Jake D...It was a little over 4 time what I paid for my GS ($1200). That is why I got it...too good a deal to pass up, I was really looking for a VFR or a F4i like my sons (even though I didn't want to copy him).

Wow. At least it was quality workmanship. That makes it a lot better than just sticking stickers on like I see most people. I do like the deep red color.
