does anybody know if you have to have a license in alabama

usually you have to get a license in every state these days

yeppers, in most places if said bikes displacement is above a certain point or if the bike is ridden on the street you NEED a license :icon_confused:

Not to be offensive (we're a pretty friendly group of people), but a 10 second google search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=alabama+motorcycle+license&btnG=Google+Search) could have gotten you the answer without starting a new thread.

PS: WOW they'll give you a license with no skills test down there!

Yea, you just have to pass a written test.  It is pretty easy.  As for not having to pass a skills test, at least we do have helmet laws unlike some states though...  I guess we just don't have as many bikes as most other states and they figure its a waste to go through that process  :dunno_white:

The helmet law is a definite plus but I have to say that I wouldn't feel particularly safe knowing that the guy riding next to me only had to do 30 minutes of studying to get his license.

I didn't have to do squat...  I grandfathered into my license.  I think the cut-off is 1975 or 76, if your born after that you have to take the written test.
