I, like quite a few people it seems, have had that damn problem with the high idle. I watched Kerry's video (thanks!) and checked my valves. 3 of them were fine but the left exhaust valve was out of spec. It measured 2.80 and wouldnt fit the .038 shim I had. I relaced it with a 2.75 which STILL didnt fit then finally had to go down to a 2.65!! WAAY outta spec.
I also took apart the carbs and clened them out completely and put the mixture screws at 4 turns out each becuase for some reason my bike likes to be lean but I may have to reexamine that becasue of the new valve work.
I also had Bob Broussard do the ignition advance to my Califronia bike (thanks for that again!)
I also got new tires becasue I needed them very badly.
Anyway the bike fired right up much to my suprise for those of you that witnessed my earler problems with the rejet. She great, sounds great, but really needs a wash. I have to say I am very happy with the results and everyone should make sure to check their valve clearance as often as you should if you don't already. I still need to get around to installing those new brake pads though...Thanks everyone's help through this process.
