Title: Napolean mirror on throttle-side of handlebar....
Post by: dracflamloc on June 20, 2006, 10:45:23 AM
When I tighten my new Napolean mirror onto the right side of my handlebar the thing stops the throttle from snapping shut automatically! How did you all get your bar-end mirrors on without hindering the throttle?

I dont have stock bars, I have these:

You should be able to do the reverse of what I did to get my Throttle Retainer (http://www.bbburma.net/ThrottleRetainer.htm) to work.  Look at the 3-photo section near the top of the page and try doing the OPPOSITE of what it says.  ;)

Did you change the bars yourself?  If so, did you drill them to accept the tab on the controls, or was the tab ground off?  IF it was ground off, you can just shift the controls in a bit.  If it was drilled, then it was drilled too close to the end, and you'll have to devise a way to keep it away from the throttle.

Did you get the EMGO mirrors?  IF so, then it doesn't matter.  They suck almost as much as not having mirrors.

The tires are Pilot Powers. I was able to move the controls in a bit and now everything is fine. Thanks!

EMGO? Whats that.

All I know is I have the napolean bar-end mirrors and they work just fine =)

EMGO is the brand of the Napoleons that I ended up with.  They suck.
