Sounds like you've already got a drink to me...
Unless your a huge kitty cat!!! Hahahahaha
+1 Alpha
  Alpha that is great. I love tequila straight so I agree with him. Fill a little glass, down it, repeat. And have one for me
what tequila you got??
once you go Patron Silver...you never go back :thumb:
I don't really like hard alcohol much anymore unless I want to get drunk fast, and drinking it straight is just too boring. Anybody here make their own hard alcohol/beer/wine? I've been brewing beer, and it is very good!
I've been brewing for about six years off and on now. I agree that it is far better than any production beer you will find. Once you get the courage and experience, try an all-grain batch. You won't ever want to go back to the canned malt extract again :thumb:
I'm too lazy to read about it, what all is involved in all grain brewing?
Tequila isn't a drink, its a poison. Go trade it for some real alcohol. Alternatively, take Tequila poppers- pour one shot into a double shot glass, pour in a shot of sprite, cover it and bang it on the table to make it fizz up, then drink (quickly).

First point - you are wrong tequila isn't poison, it is the poison of choice
Second point - Those shots rock, is kills the aftertaste with a fizzy delight
My point - Beer is the poison of choice for broke bastards, that or everclear
Edited due to fat fingerage
You could make a Sloe Comfortable Screw up against the Wall 151 times South of the Border with Feeling.
Alls you need now is Sloe gin, Southern Comfort, Orange Juice and Vodka, 151 Baccardi, and Galliano.
Tequila poppers rock!
Regarding beer for poor bastards: Hams.

Enjoy the hell out of the honeymoon man and congrats. As for recomendations try a local made mezcal, similar to tequila but quite a bit smoother, it is great. But if you have new wifey, as in my honeymood in about t minus 11 months, I would stay away from hard drinks and gravitate tward the bedroom

Ditto.
However, for a tequila mixer, I like koolaid. Any "mellon" flavor. Best one I've experienced so far is kiwi watermellon. When you make the koolaid, leave it about 2 cups of water shy. Mix it 1oz tequila to 4oz koolaid (that's 2 shots per cup) and pour over crushed ice.
f%$k quervo...f%$k patron...f%$k all that other crap...and f%$k anything that comes in a plastic bottle at least twice...

You basically take many lbs of grain and leach all of the starches out of them in water, then you convert the starches to sugars by careful heating. Its not that big of a pain in the butt, but it makes beer that tastes the way beer should.
To keep in the vein of this thread, it is also the first step of making moonshine ;)

Here is what I know for sure.... it is legal for anyone to purchase grains, hops, yeast and water. Whats really cool about grain is that in some states you don't even have to pay tax on it because it is considered groceries. What you do with it from there is your business, not mine ;)

I'm sure that beer is very bad, beer usually lasts like a year i think.
and yeah, anybody can buy a home brew kit. luckliy there is one about 30 min away from me. It will also make your house smell like corn flakes for a couple hours...when you brew...
oh, and it takes about a month, depends on the beer. but about a month.
It's it not legal to brew unless your 21+. But no one is going to stop you.
Depending on the beer, it will last anywhere from a couple of months (lighter beers) to indefinitely (stronger beers can benefit from years or aging). The only way to know for sure is to drink it. As long as it's properly sealed, it won't have gone bad in a way that will hurt you. No known pathogens can live in beer.

What part of it requires that you are 21? The part where you put the yeast in? Because untill that point, it has no alcohol content.
aye you can home brew beer, you can make wine, however i believe the law frowns upon liquor which "shine" is but its readily available pretty much
Bah. Pour in some orange juice and grenadine and watch the sun rise 8)

That's why there's Octoberfest...to get rid of all the beer made last year.

Law frowns upon distilling because you can blow yourself up along with things that are close to you.
About the old homebrew, the guy a few posts up is right. It depends on what your grandpa made. If he made a pale ale, it's probably pretty gross. If he made a barleywine you're going to be just fine. Open it, pour it, smell it look at it and drink it.
It's actually illegal to distill alcohol, you have to have a permit to do it legally. But you can buy a distiller for distilling water, or oil...
You can even distill alcohol to use as fuel, I believe. The real reason it's illegal to distill drinking alcohol is becuase they can't really tax it.
As for the 21 bit, I don't know which act specifcally makes it "making beer" and therefore illegal, but I just know that the law specifies you must be 21. But like I said, no one's going to stop you. Just go to your local homebrew store, buy the stuff, and get started. It's a ton of fun.
yepp thx i forgot about the taxation issue

don't forget that an improperly made moonshine can contain all sorts of nasty stuff. From still explosions to poisoning to the fuzz coming for you, running a still for beverage alcohol is dangerous on many levels. :nono:
now you can legally ferment as strong as possible. If you are so inclined, distillers yeast is commercially available and will put a high gravity wort up to about 20% alcohol by volume. The catch is that it will taste nasty if you don't distill it. Even so, I've always been tempted to try to come up with a recipe that uses it, just so I can brag that my beer is as strong as schapps.

Well, then I wasn't talking to you, was I. :)
i dont brew, but am wondering how much it would cost to open up shop...
i would like to brew...sounds like it would be a fun hobby.
only problem is that i cant stand to drink beer :dunno_white:
The kit from the place I go to is $140 with every thing you need except for the recipe, the bottles, and water....at least, as far as I remember. The recipe's are around $25 for a 5 gallon batch ( I get about 50 bottles every time).
http://mainbrew.com/ <-----this is the one I go to.
yeah, plan on investing about 100 bucks or so to get started with a basic setup. from there, its basically 15 to 20 bucks a case. you will have to buy sanitizer, caps, etc... to keep your operation going, but they are a small expense compared to startup and ingredients.
It is cheeper in the long run compared to buying beer all the time, plus you get better quality beer and can make whatever you want. And you will get a good education on beer.
plus you can "raise" the alcohol content as you see fit :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted: :icon_twisted:
