Break in limit:
I just bought an 04 GS500 with 4000 miles on the bike and 200 miles on the engine for $2300 :D.. I was wondering what is the break in limit?
Exhaust question:
I had an accident with my poor CBR600, the axel nut came off and locked up the back tire, the bike was messed up pretty good but I managed to make it run and be street legal. 2 weeks ago my brother was killed in a bike accident so my mom wants me to part out my CBR since it is kinda ghetto and she doent want any asccidents :( I dont want to but I will do it for her. I was going to see if I could put my Yoshimurra slip-on from my CBR on my GS500. Will this effect preformance or the engine?
Plastics question:
I am not too hot on the singleseat, Is there any kits to make it into a double or a "busa style" seat hump?

Don't worry about the break in limit, just ride it!

You can. It might give you 1HP, but it's mainly for sound.

No.
Welcome to the board, and sorry to hear about your brother...
The only break-in I do is keep the rpm's varied, and change the oil often at first. Other than that ride it and rev it like normal. :thumb:
You might be able to make the slip-on fit but it won't do anything for the engine.. Slip-ons are mainly cosmetic, if you wanted power you should get a system. I think somoene makes one for the GS now, I don't know if I'd bother but some ppl on here ordered it. (btw, those who did post pics!)
There is also someone who has a solo seat cover, but again I am not sure who, it wasn't a busa style though.
Searching would be a good idea, some ppl might find it for ya...
Welcome!
Keep it under 5000rpm for the first 500 miles, then change the oil and filter and have a ball.
Putting the pipe on the GS will make it run leaner, hotter, worse unless you re-jet for the pipe.
