Title: Anybody here ever worked for GEICO?
Post by: mastrind on June 26, 2006, 08:35:14 PM
I'm in the process of finding employment since I graduated....tomorrow I start as a manager at What-a-burger....although I'm not thrilled about it.....it's decent $$, but I didn't go through college to flip burgers....

....so has anybody here worked for GEICO?....I went through 4.5 hours of testing and interviewing today....I was the only one of my group of 4 to make it through....(now it's on to the background investigation)....the position is call center (claims adjuster)....pay is about $30/wk less then whataburger....but requires 15 less hours a week too....just looking to get some info....thanx all....

Whataburger pays its managers 30k / year?  Holy crap...

That said, if I were you I'd stay the hell away from the fast food industry.  How's that going to look on your resume?  Geico would at least give you some business credibility when you look for something better and possibly room for advancement.  Working in a cubicle is infinitely better than working at the deep-fryer too  :thumb:

Actually I hear managing a lot of people, even if its at a fast food place, looks pretty good on the resume.  But still not something you want to do forever

....yeah....30k/year....course it's 50 hrs/wk....the credibility looks pretty good actually....considering I'm not flippin burgers.....I'm telling the flippin burger guy what to do....hopefully I'll be a general mgr (if I stay there) in 4-6 months.....

....Target has a position that I really like.....$40k/yr....only 40hrs/wk.....Executive Mgr (in training).....I interviewed for it a few weeks ago....I did well....and have a nice resume....but I don't have any retail management....only 5 years in the army as a sergeant & a college degree (plus a slew of other jobs - mainly entry level)......don't know how long I'll stay there.....at least until something better comes along.....
