Hi folks, just arrived home from Prague, did about 1600 miles. Great trip, Bike, gear & luggage all did exactly what was required of them, no problems. Some of the wooded mountain roads in Cz and far east of Germany very remote and very hairy :o worst moment was being very close to an eagle-strike, or a very large bird of prey of some kind in Northern Cz heading for Dresden and wow those no-limit Autobahns :cookoo:
Did not need any of the tools / spares but glad I had them, only damage is that my tax-disc holder dropped off but it was pretty corroded anyway, only a scan-copy disc in it so no worries. Later on I will sort out some pictures and facts and figures, fuel economy etc and "do" and "don't" for Eastern Europe.
Got a lotta laundry to do now  but good memories of
Awesome! Make sure you post pics. :thumb:
What my friend here was trying to say was "make sure you post some pics of the girls in CZ."
Glad you had a good time. Sounds awsome.
"an eagle-strike"? :o
I don't suppose you captured the moment on video ... ? ;)
holy sh!t balls that'd be awesome, you could get something like that on break.com , or ebaumsworld
"captured on video?" Oh yes!.....sorry to busy trying to keep the contents of my rib cage on the inside. I recon if i hit the thing it would have been bye-bye-birdie, Pricey and GS. I was on a fairly narrow twistee and the thing came accross at ninety degrees left to right a couple of yards ahead about headlamp height.
That section was one of the most "interesting" rides. It was the D8/E55 from Prague to Teplice and eventually Dresden, it may be a thick blue line on the map but a lot of it is little more than a country lane, they have not quite built the road on the map yet!! very strange region, looks volcanic. lots of people selling very odd things by the roadside, hundreds and hundreds of gopping coloured garden gnomes of all things and "Ladies of the night" plying their (oldest) profession. All this mid-sunday morning so those girls are either workaholics or had a slow Satuday night. Before someone asks, no and nor did I take pictures! (even though some of them had apparently forgotten to get dressed)
The other very intersesting sections were the leg from Cheb, just over Cz border where I stayed overnight (Wild-West town) into Prague especially around Karlovy Vary and a section on my second day from Berncastle Kues in the Mosel valley to Mainz, a couple of long-lonesome roads with one eye on the tripmeter wondering if there would eventually be a Benzin station. After a couple of worries I formulated rule-one, fill up at every opportunity even if you only need four or five litres.
Welcome home!
And when you get the laundry sorted out, we want pics!
Welcome back!!! Can't wait to see the pics!!!!! :thumb:
that sounds like a kick ass trip, a little bit of everything. really can't wait to see pics!
