When I'm on the highway in 6th gear doing about 70-75 and then try to use moderate gas to pass someone my bike just revs and doesn't move any quicker. It just revs up to redline and it sounds like it tries to catch but it sounds like it's slipping. Strange thing is I just replaced my clutch with kevlar upgrades and stronger springs. It was doing this before I replaced it, and I was trying to fix it with the new clutch, but now it seems more noticable.
Is there anything anybody can think of to solve my dilema? Maybe adjusting my clutch, I tried this but maybe I'm not doing it properly. I adjusted it at the top, the bottom, and the pusher mechanism but I've had no luck.
Any help would be great, heck maybe a fellow Ohio rider (one mroe mechanically inclined) could help me.

put some slack in your cable...it's to tight.

Howsabout downshifting.... trying to pass someone in 6th may not feel like you're moving.
I thought that might have been it also, but I have plenty of slack in my cable.
This is making me angry, and I have no idea what it could be?
Even when I downshift it feels like it just revs with no power being put down, it only does this when I'm trying to quickly accelerate.

try lubing the cable and make sure it isn't binding or anything with the handlebars. I'm not going to say the cable IS the problem...but if it's not then your bike's broken on the inside and that can be a little more inconienient.
What kind of oil are you using?
i gunna guess 5W-30 or synthetic...... :icon_mrgreen:

I'm in the middle of an email thread with someone (is it you?) that's having the same problem. We haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet, but my current guess is the positioning of the "release mechanism adjustment screw".
Try backing the adjustment screw out another 1/4 turn and see if that makes a difference. (You may need to readjust the cable slack as well.) If it works, let me know and I'll pass the word on!
I'm running standard Motul 10W40. I did get the adjustment screw better adjusted and it seemed to fix the problem for now.

i have issues with that too. i noticed it on the past ride. i assumed it was the additives in the oil. im using quakerstate 10W-40
