Title: chronicles of narnia fans!
Post by: makenzie71 on June 27, 2006, 11:02:22 PM
They're making Prince Caspian...going to hit theatres in '08.  Kinda disapointed that they're skipping A Horse and His Boy, but it makes sense that they stick with the 4 main characters before they get "old" and have to be played by other kids.  A Boy and His Horse can be made any time...same for The Last Battle...hell even the Magician's Nephew.  The Dawn Treader is planned, too...can't wait for that one.

At any rate, even though they eviscerated the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I really enjoyed the movie and can't wait for the sequels to come up...except for the last battle.  Just not impressed with the ending of the series...out of ideas so I'll just kill everyone...lol.

I think I'll read the books again...

Ah, cool. My GF is a fan, so she'll be pleased when I tell her...  I bought her the TV series for her birthday a few years back -- I think it aired on BBC in the UK in the 80's ... Yeah, really low budget but she's watched it a few times now.

Did anyone not think it was like a spoof of alot of other films, mainly HP and LOTR's?

Harry Potter?  No.

Lord of the Rings?  Duh.  Rowling and Tolkein were like best friends...they had a little group that used to get together just to brainstorm this stuff up...a lot of the character profiles in Rowling's stuff are spin-offs of Tolkeins ideas, and a lot of the creatures and "beings" in Tolkein's stuff is spun off Rowling's ideas...plus stuff is weaved in from the other member's contributions.  Neither the Chronicles of Narnia or the Lord of the Rings have the pleasure of being 100% conjured by either auther...lol

You mean C.S. Lewis and Tolkein were friends, right?

Read the Narnia series when I was younger really liked how they did the movie. . . was a bit disappointed about the lack of blood but then again it was a disney movie.
LOTR was really good as for Star Wars well
a new hope good
empire strikes back good
return of the jedi sorta good
the new ones were just terrible all of them had a few good moments but mostly they were bad.
