Just wondering what you guys think about tha Honda Interceptor? I was looking at them the other day. They seem like a nice bike, its an 800cc fuel injected water cooled bike. I thought the water cooled part would help when its 110 outside...And it has abs brakes.
I think it looks good . . very big bike tho, and the seat is really wide. Personally I loved the white over the black. The exhaust looks sexy. Never have ridden one so can't comment on power or performance.
From my experience (having time to waste at the stealership while my buddy porked around with getting a brand new bike) They seemed heavy.
Very well made, and they make like 100hp or so. But again they are heavy. (524 lbs dry.)
Could easily hide from the weather, the seating was comfortable (I long for it every time I go more than 100 miles in one shot.)
I like low, low, low seats, that's what the VFR has. I think it could stand to lose 50 pounds (or more) but all in all, a very nice bike.
Though I've heard the V-TEC transition is less than smooth.......... I like smoothness, not surges of power.
I loved how the Interceptors looked in the front, but the rear was too much Gold-Wing style. :dunno_white: Didn't like it much
ill stick with my original 1986 interceptor the first one the the vf1000r i got it for 100 bucks from a guy my dad works with he was the original owner 24k miles it had been sitting 8 years i put fresh fuel in it primed the carbs and threw in a fresh battery and vrooom fired right up on 2nd try the crabs need cleaned but ive been collecting parts to restore it i fianlly got all the fairings and the f2 wheels to convert it to modern tires and im gonna have freddie spencer sign the tank since he has his school at the speedway here in las vegas and its a replica of his world super bike :thumb:

Yeah, I had a co-worker with a VFR who said the same thing. He did not like the V-TEC. One problem I guess is that the transition point is right around highway cruising speed, so it would somethimes flutter back and forth while cruising. Not fun.
The only thing bad that I've heard of was that the bike would die when stopping. Something electronic would kill the engine when coming to a stop. Read it in MCN.

this is true, and no one on vfrd.com will admit to it...but Honda pretty much did, not in so many words, when they changed the point at which the vtec kicks in for the 2006 model year...My friend had one and it drove him crazy so he sold the bike. Otherwise loved it.
