OK you put a 125/40 in it. It also has a decent non snout Yosh - old style ...
The bike has a dent in the back side of the tank ... as in you hit it so hard when getting the thing back on ... or the rubber busing in front was too tight ...
Then the bike was painted mattish ... semi gloss black ...
The battery negative post was taken off and twisted with a wire nut and has a funky ass thin line to the post ... oh please ... I have seen thicker wire in electronic components ...
I belive it was owned by someone in Pennsylvania, and in 2003 was sold to somene in Virginia ... or someone who brought it to VA.
I now have it ...
Your floats were off ... waaaaay off ... too high ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Oh no they did not, thank God she's in good hands now!!!!!!
And I thought I was in the center of the broke-ass GS Universe. That's just sad. I bet they tried to fix it with black electrical tape too.
Hey Srinath! Come on down I-85 and I will treat you to lunch at a new Indian Fusion place in Greenville. They serve everything on a tava. Place has a catchy name -- The Tava Grill.
:icon_rolleyes:
Hey now...I've tried to fix my bike with electrical tape before......I found that duct tape works better! :icon_razz:

Looks too much like that black latex stuff people wear for "recreational" activities.
Gives me the willies...or makes me excited..
....".I found that duct tape works better!".......
You know what they say about duct tape.
Duct tape is like the "Force".
It has a dark side, and a light side, and it binds the universe together. :kiss3: :kiss3: :kiss3:

Well ... you wanna fess up then ... The name on the title as well as the general area matches to you ...
BTW ...
Look at my other post about a blind driver in an SUV ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Does it run?

Does it run?
It ran all the way ~5 miles to the auto parts store where it got bashed by the SUV ... O0 ...
Cool.
Srinath.
OK any guesses ...
The bike had a loose exhaust, fixed that, 125/40 with stock airbox and filter and yosh pipe. 3 turns out on mains ... washers and needle prolly OK but didn't confirm ...
Bike is running on right cyl only at low RPM. Over 4 K its great ... it also starts great and idles great ... but on right only again ... with choke also right only ...
Floats were recently set ... and they are right ...
Left plugs come gas soaked when I pull them ... BTW I got champion 809's.
Who wants to guess ...
No intake leaks ... wd40 test was clean ...
Cool.
Srinath.
soooo
are you making fun of the prev owner or you are having problems with getting it to run?
Do a compression test first. Then, with new plugs, try and start her. If she doesn't fire up off the bat and run on both cylinders, then put your hand over the left's intake and see if she kicks in.
These motors are old-school crazy simple...if they're timed propperly, they literally need only air, fuel and fire to run. You're missing one of the equation.
holy sh!t
the great all knowing one is actually stumped on something.....
this is going to be sooooo much fun
There is 2 obvious choices ...
And compression prolly is fine, I am running fine over 3500 on both ...
When ever left reads rich and right reads lean ... there is a leak in the vacuum diaphragm at the petcock.
If you have right rich and left lean, and not sucking air ... your choke is letting in mixture ... as in O rings there are shot and its sucking like it was open ... someone swapped me a set of carbs that had this problem, and someone else wrote to me about the first type of problem.
Yea left choke can leak too ... but left carb, my $$ is on vacuum petcock diaphragm ... more likely ...
If these dont pan out ... then I'm stumped ...
BTW I wandered around the 5 bikes the whole day today and never thought of it till it was too rain like to do anything ...
KZ leaking gas, max X radiator fan runs all the time ... virago brakes done ... :thumb: Vulcan ... petcock problems ... Geez ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Sounds like you've got fuel on the left side, since the plug comes out soaked.
Maybe the left-side signal generator doesn't like low-RPM vibrations? :dunno_white:
It has plenty of spark ... but of course the timing could be off ... I'll call that plan B ... my money is on a pin hole in the diaphragm ...
Also the signal generator dies when it warms up ... as in you start revving and it wont let the left one run ...
I have had a signal generator die before ... you start it, and ride it ... in under 10 minutes if you get on the highway and hold it above 6-7K ... it will run ... till you run the tank dry ... it run forever ... just dont let rpm drop to under 4K ... you do that, and it will lose 1 cyl, only to never fire up again till it gets cold ... This isn't following that pattern ... It is fine over 3500 or so ... Vacuum hose taking in gas ... and getting into left and richening it too much ... BTW right is lean could use another 1/2 of mix screw ...
Cool.
Srinath.
Yea gas into vacuum line ...
Fixed that and it runs like a top. Not quite ... runs like a top that has been backed into by an SUV ...
It needs petcock fixed, then needs the valves checked and possibly adjusted, a 1/2 turn on mix screw, float checks with U tube, and then we'll see ...
Cool.
Srinath.
