Title: Can I get a Reccomendation
Post by: TragicImage on July 05, 2006, 02:23:31 PM
Can I get some one to suggest two or three boots to suggest?

I'm looking at maybe Sidi, or A*... but would like other's imput.

If you've owned one or the other, I'd love to hear what you've got to say on the model.

And f%$k no, I didn't do a search before I posted this, I'm way too lazy.

A* and Sidi fit rather differently...  I can't wear A* boots.  Teknic boots fit close to A*s...

I got the Sidi "Way" Tepor...  They are affordable, 100% waterproof, and pretty comfortable...  (Breaking them in was odd, 'cause they pushed my feet forward in the boot).

i have sidi champion tepor that I bought when I started riding. Don't think they're made anymore though. Really good boot-they've lasted 3.5+ years and good for one lowside. The way and amount of track riding I do I should upgrade to a full racing boot though.

Sidi's were way to tight on my foot, loved the look and protection tho that was the B-2's, and then I tired on the vertigo corsa and they were tight on the foot also.

Alpinestars felt more comfortable on me SM-X R.

If you are wanting street looking I also have a pair of Icon motorhead boots they are kinda tight in the foot but bearable and very comfortable to walk in.

All 3 companies I tried on / bought boots that were my regular shoe size and they fit good.

On a side note I do have wide feet so finding boots that fit me comfortably was a pain in the a$$.  Basically Sidi's boots fit normal to narrow feet, alpinestar will fit wide feet and icon seemed to be in the middle at least in the width department.

I have alpinestars ridge boots (2006 model). I like them a lot. They're waterproof and built very well. They absorb a great deal of vibration, which makes riding the GS at high rpms and long trips much more enjoyable.

I bought some Oxtar's a few years ago on clearance.  Got a great deal.  Not a bad boot.

I think Sidi boots are the best you can buy if you have narrow feet.  I can't comment on other brands because I have narrow feet.   :icon_mrgreen:

I bought fly 805 motocross boots for really long term riding. These things are just plain huge but they tend to make you stay on the bike  :thumb: and even better absorb almost all of the vibration that comes from the footpegs.

So super comfortable, very cool to wear in the summer, and extremely vibration absorbing. The only downside is the size (think snowboots).

:)

I like Sidi's the best, A*'s second.  I find the heels of the A*'s bulbous, and get in the way.
If could afford Daytonas, I would like to try those, or the Oxtars, or Diadoras...

I have Oxtar Jupiters.  They are very comfortable and can def. be worn around all day, as I wear them for 12 hrs at work.  They protected me and held up just fine in the crash.
