Back to 1976. That's me :o Then we had to "roll our own". No real factory sport bikes . We called these "cafe racers". That's a 1970 Honda 450 K1. Those days, the bikes were skinny. The tires were skinny. And the riders were skinny.
It doesn't matter who it is, just look at that mustache!
Totally! I love those old cafe bikes... I was originally looking for an old UJM that I could cafe, but I found that they aren't as cheap as I am.
Nice Moo-Stah-Chay. :flipoff:

Dude, that is awesome! I like the non-conventional café tail too. Looks awesome!
That is an awsome picture. You look big pimpin' to me. That bike is awsome!
I read an article recently on the etymology of the term "Cafe Racer". Apparently in England, there was a cafe all the bikers would hang out in. A couple miles down the road there was a round about. They would turn on the juke box and play "House of the Rising Sun" and see if they could fly down the road, go around the round about, and get back before the song was over. Thus the term Cafe Racer.
If there are any old British dudes (ahem, Cal Price) that can confirm or deny this, speak up.
They had a show about motorcycles on the history channel the other day, they talked about the British MC culture from back in the day and they said the same thing about cafe racing. Pretty interesting stuff if you ask me :thumb:
That's like far out man, I love nostalgia!!!!
good stuff, makes me wonder what pics will be posted 20 years from now.
