Cuz this is all building up to me rejeting next week (or the week after)
First question
Stage 3
or
stage 7?
Which ones better
Search noob :2guns:
question 2
Whats with the washers on the carbs.
I get the needles and all but whats the purpose of the spacers
I think you should rejett with a stage 69.
you strike again, BikerBiatch
shhhhh you cant reveal my secret identity
the washers lift the needles so there is more fuel during the mid throttle,
whats your exhaust and filter set up at the moment??
http://www.factorypro.com/tech/carbtune,CV,high_rpm_engines.html
have a look at that site that should explain a bit,
have you never heard of google :icon_mrgreen:
No stages. Use Mikuni jets.
Well Im going to be doing either the K&N or pods, but probably K&N and Dyno Jet kit W/O filter
and stock exhaust. Im thinking about doing a slip on NO DINERO FOR FULL SYSTEM
Tell me about these Mikuni jets. I searched but I couldnt find anything specifically referencing them
my god, have you not read any jetting posts at all :icon_mrgreen:
they are the standard that fit into makuni carbs... yes the carbs that are on your bike,
buy them seperatly instead of that expensive kit. you'll save about 90% on what you would pay
im not sure of suppliers over there in u.s but some one will pipe up im sure and give you a link.
Mikuni is the manufacturer of the carburetor. Using their jets eliminates the "aftermarket jet and needle valve" variable when you have trouble getting it to run right. Did I say when? I meant "if".... Yeah, that's the ticket! Mikuni N151.067-40 non-bleeding pilot jets are what you want assuming you have a pre-2001 bike (which I assume, since you're talking about washers). The main jets are N100.604-whateversizeyouneed.
If you need washers, PM me a snail-mail address and I'll send you some. Let me know how many of what thickness you want. I think you'll need between 1 and 1.5 mm total, but I'm not an expert on these things.
No I have an 05. So does that mean I dont need washers
The newer carbs have an adjustable needle. So therefore, you don't need the washers to raise the needle. I don't know the recommended jetting for the newer carbs since I don't need to know it. :icon_mrgreen: AlphaFire probably would know.
ALPHA ANSWER THIS NOW!!!!

You can get your jets from www.sudco.com give them a call tell them what bike you have and the sizes you want. Look at my sig thats my jet set up.
And I have wileyco exhaust and K & N lunchbox filter.
Tad, you're such a whiner. Oh BTW are you drunk? Hhahahahaha LOL.

Don't go with kits, they are dumb.
You just do jets, no washers, must adjust needles, Dr. Alpha will be with you shortly.
Jet sizing, I dunno. Stock on mine are 122.5 So like 125 or larger? I dunno i'm white.
Copy Blue 05 and you should be good for jet sizes methinks.
yeah call up Sudco and order the jets you need. If you're just getting a lunch box or pod filters, get 20 pilots, 62.5 mid-mains (ask for small round mains), and 137.5 mains (again small round mains). If you're just going with the stock air box with a drop in or stock air filter, go with 132 mains instead of the 137.5. You'll need 2 of each and it should cost you ~$30 shipped :thumb:

.
I got the dynojet kit 1 & 3 ... I went w/ 3. It was Soooo easy. The directions in the pack are great. You dont need to shim or (Ghetto rig) anything. It comes with new needles.
You also get a free dyno run w/ the kit.. and some sweet stickers :) hehe..

So how much did those kits cost you total? I have a huge selection of jets that I got for under $40, and then got my bike dynoed for $40 at a local Harley shop. So $80 and I have much more tunability. Sweet.
what are the stock sizes again?
i have some poping of idle and am a little flat on the top end,
drop in k&N and larger exhust, what is the doc's idea for jets

130 main, 60 mid main, 20 pilot
With the K&N drop in and Jardine, I'd say 140 or 142.5 main, 65 mid main, and 22.5 pilot
2 of each right? YEA I AM SURE, DUU BUT JUST WANT TO BE SURE.
here, http://www.sudco.com/cat32/159-160.pdf
i got
142.5 mains = 004-197
65 mid mains = 004-166
and i dont see a 22.5
ok found the pilots
http://www.sudco.com/cat32/60.pdf
