Was off work this week. Rode about 1,000 km going to Horseshoe Valley for a couple of nights and then the cottage to visit my Dad. My '04 GS now has over 20,000 km on it (15,000 of those are mine!)
Got to try out the new Airhawk seat cushion. Pretty impressed. Yesterday, after 280 km in the saddle, I felt like I could keep going. That's with my back and elbow currently on the fritz.
I don't know what the field of blue stuff is, but I thought it was cool.

Congrats. If I ever get me brand new bike out of the repair shop, i would like to get to that mileage at some point haha
Gorgeous pics!! And congrats on the milestone mileage!!!!
Bluebonnets possibly?
Good job on hittin' 20k! Even better on the 15k under your belt!
For our non-metric partners:
20,000 km = 12,427.4 mi
15,000 km = 9,320.6 mi
20k... isn't that "cotton"?
Here's a toast to your whopping 20km of fun! That is quite an achievement; I hope to follow you (in a few years, at my rate).
dont worry alf, we got him and most beat.
i am now closeing in on 15,000 miles and still have yet to do the valves., and i need to rejet. it just a matter of time befor somthing bad happens because i havent.
as soon as the valve kit comes in, i hope to have the jets by next thurs so i can get it all done this coming friday or next monday.
Well done in deed. Like the luggage. Goes well with the bike. Who says a GS500 can't go touring. :thumb:
haha..congrats. Get these miles under your belt and you should be safer in the long run
That is a fine looking machine with some exellent luggage! I need to "checkout" that Airhawk seat cushion. I have been looking for a raccoon fur with head attached but they are few and far between. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't tour on a GS500. Believe me people have toured on some unbelievable bikes (and scooters). Truly you have a nice machine.
