Well its finally on after a couple hours work on sunday it look great sounds even better although did not go off with out a hitch the left hand side header brackets were so tight to get off and on that we actually had to recut the threads not that we cross threaded either bolt hole just the threads were so full of gunk it makes you wonder how when the exhaust has never come off it before and its only 3 years old but with a bit of time and care it was no problem the actual installation took all of 15 minutes doing the threads took about an hour but what a result here some pics hope they come out.

no sound file yet as I'll wait for the dyno tune but to discribe it, its sounds like a cross between a WRX with a big canon exhaust and a triumph bonniville with a sports system and its LOUD once the dyno done I'll get a sound bite for everyone :thumb: :cheers:
BTW took it for a ride around the block picked up quicker down low, but went a bit flat in the midrange but that will be all sorted by the end of the week.

until the threads in the head become dirty and the cheap ass bolts wont go back in all the way after almost seizing coming out and you have to recut the threads but after that its a 30 min job.
To nick if you look at the pictures you can see the bolts to remove there are only five bolts and one nut to remove and then it well falls off once you've got one pipe in the hole just fit the other pipe by giving it a bit of a push as they wont just slid in because it sits a little off centre dont worry its not a manufactures Fault its just so it sits in nice and tight then just join the pieces together and its done the hardest part about this excluding the header bolt problem was fitting the centre stand rubber to the new system that by far was the hardest and most time consuming part (use a bit of grease it works wonders).
Then you MUST have it rejetted we took it around the block a couple of times and it was pretty flat in the midrange if your not confident about rejetting get someone to do that for you I'm having it dynoed so I can get the best out of it with out spending hours guessing with jets as I feel the jetting for an Australian model will be a bit different to what everyone in the states is using but otherwise if it was the same I'd do it myself.

BTW if you do it yourself just take it gently with the header bolts if you take care you won't break them dont try to be he man with them as they tighten up screw them back in 2 turn the back out if you keep doing it that way you'll have no problems :thumb: :cheers:

Thats why I bought a full system didn't want to cut or damage the original, the pollution police can be pretty strict with noisey exhaust systems on cars and bikes in Aust so instead of trying to weld my old can back on the system if I get booked I can just bolt the complete old system on have it inspected, pass it, ride home and bolt the good system on and judging by the sound of the new system I may well have to do it in the future :thumb: :cheers:

So is this kit compatible with slipons? It looks like it from the pics.
If so, I might wanna try and contact the manufacturer and have them sell me just the midpipe and headers.
any spring loaded slip on would do provided the hole diameter is the same but as the muffler is straight through with just defusser in it I couldn't imagine any other slip ons would flow any better unless your looking for a carbon fibre slip on :dunno_white: :thumb: :cheers:

I have an 06 and i defanitly wanna put this on my bike. Problem is, i have NO mechanical experience. Is there a step by step tutorial for this mod? Im assuming i need to rejet while using this system, ill just order a dynojet kit. That come with a K&N filter doesnt it?

If you look at the original pics you will see the bolts that need to be removed 5 bolts and 1 nut its as easy a mod to do as just about any other mod the only problems are the header bolts and centrestand rubber mount if you refer to an earlier reply in this post you will see what I mean other then those its a good mod to do to give yourself confidence to work on your bike but you will need to rejet, best leave that to someone in the know if your not confident about it also the jets don't come with the filter that is a seperate kit to buy theres also a link to the one i bought (exhaust) from ebay :thumb: :cheers:
